Title: Terminator Salvation to Feature Motor/Bot Terminators
Post by: Monster Dave on November 13, 2008, 10:29:40 AM
Looks like Terminator Salvation has taken the bot idea from Aliens and Transformers and gone in a new direction. Check out these images:

This one share a striking similarity to the Face Hugger from Aliens:

You be the judge:

Someone should have this guy duke it out with Optimus:

In reference to that giant terminator.

Why do they make that look like it's human still with 2 arms and 2 legs?  I don't get it?!

That first robot is similar to the snake-likes robot from a few diferent movies.  Seems like they had on like tht in Matrix

All the classic mechas have a humanoid form even though physics tells us that the humanoid form isn't the best for something that size. Who cares about physics though? It's a sci fi TV show!

I know that.  I've been around long enough to have had shogun warriors, micronauts, etc.

It's just COME UP WITH AN ORIGINAL F*CKING IDEA!!

I agree - we seem to be in a regurgitation cycle.

I dunno why but it reminds me a lot of the Matrix 3 armors that the humans used.

meh, can't find a good pic of it but found this one while browsing around a bit. As stated, it's difficult to be entirely original (or at least not reproduce something that's been don on accident) when using such a standard base design.

Yes, I remember those tank looking machines.  Hunter-killers, right?  Don't get me wrong..the new robot looks badazz but back to my original thought.  The terminators are supposed to pass for humans, right?  Then why make a giant terminator that resembles a human as well?  The same goes for transformers, etc.  What's the point of them being so human-like?   Why not have 4-6 arms/legs..something different.  Is it so we the audience relates to them more or because the basic human design is what got us to the top of the foodchain.

Ah, the ED-209 and Mr Kenny - good times, good times!

Ok, re terminator motorcycles. Every shot of the future has shown a debris strewn armageddon  - but the roads are a-ok? Also, look at how the guns are mounted - forward pointing only? Wow, so it basically has to be heading straight for you on a good surface to cause you any harm - I like those odds.  [thumbsup]

Is it just the uncle to John in the movie? I tried picking others out but didn't see any resemblance.  I still wasn't sure it was the same guy from the tv series.  Just wondering who you noticed.

I thought the coke-bot was really cool.  Though it was humanoid, it was asymmetrical, with lots of trick details.

News was released today that Arnold will in fact have a cameo in Terminator Salvation as well as Sly's Expendables.

It just wouldn't be a Terminator flic without Arnold. Here's what was posted:

It's been hoped for, it's been rumored, and it's been avoided. Now, it's confirmed: Arnold Schwarzenegger has a cameo in this summer's “Terminator” sequel.

“Exactly,” his co-star Terry Crews told us recently when asked about the “Terminator Salvation” cameos of Arnold and the “Idiocracy” star. “There are a lot of guys in that movie. I mean, 'Terminator 4' is very big.”

The burly, affable Crews said he was excited to make a double-reunion with Arnold, as they'll also be briefly joining forces in the Sylvester Stallone tough-guy flick “The Expendables.”

“I am not at liberty to discuss what kind of cameo it is [in 'The Expendables'], but I know for a fact he wants to be down,” Crews explained. “Arnold and I did a movie together a long time ago called 'The 6th Day.' Arnold and I are cool; he's the best.”

In addition to the “Expendables” cameo, Crews told us that Schwarzenegger will indeed be doing a cameo in “Terminator Salvation.” “That's it,” he said. “And so am I.”

Various sources have speculated whether Arnold will have a line, or simply appear body-wise as a T-800 machine. Crews said that the May 21st film's shoot was so secretive, he has no idea.

“I don't know; I haven't seen it. They only gave out pages of the script,” Crews remembered. “It was crazy. It was very, very secretive. Believe me - when you see it, that will be the first time I saw it.”

Are you excited to see Arnold back on the big screen? What would you like to see him do in his cameo?

[thumbsup]

This isn't meant to be political, but didn't Arnold say he wouldn't be in any movies while in office?
