Where are you headed and when?
last year, like the year prior..... I just ride aimlessly around town stopping wherever I see crowds and kids. I just run back home to load up the box of candy, and wander till it empties.
Last year I went out only one day... this year I may go out on multiple pays [laugh]
I just cut out the bottom of a cardboard box, decorated it, and slipped it over my magnetic tankbag.

Bakersfield Ca.
John (ducman851) posted up a link from another forum two years ago, of a story about a buddy of his who did it while riding his SS. Both he and I decided to copy the guy, ran out and purchased Santa suits, then did the same thing in our respective towns. I in Bakersfield, and he in Temecula. We both did it again last year.
The first year I went out on the M900

This year Santa's taking the M750te out.
I purchased a case of candy canes from Walmart, (the ones packed 12 to a box) spent the night de-boxing them, put them in my makeshift tankbag/giftbox, then rode around the following day tossing candy at kids.
There were a few scared kids, a few flirty moms, lots of stops for pictures, a couple of close call rearendings [evil], and a bucket load of smiles (mostly me ;D )
If your feelling the least bit down over the holiday season, spend a lil money on a Santa suit (ive seen them as low as 60 bucks), and you'll have the time of your life.
I'll try to get some video of this years fun.
I think it would be fun to do. Wonder if I can find a way to secure a Santa's hat atop the headlight bucket [thumbsup]

I tried to last year, It was too cold for the bike so I borrowed a friends van...
We even advertised "free candy" on it. but our reception was less then warm.

[cheeky]
Maybe I should move to a warmer climate.
chloroform is not candy [laugh]
bp, you rock. [thumbsup] [clap]
This week has been taxing.
Work.... no sleep.... sick animals..... no sleep...... b-day parties with cranky kids.... no sleep..... rain...... no sleep
The very last thing I wanted to do today was put the suit on.
But I did.
Two seconds out..... all was right in the world.

[thumbsup]
my favorite kid... at five minutes into the video.... the lil girl blows me a kiss :-* ;D
I rode around for about an hour and a half after leaving lm and the boys.
I was cold, wet, I lost my Santa belt in the 58 do'n 70 [evil], but well worth the time in the suit.
Cool J! :D
[moto]
I think I have about three more trips worth of candycanes left
Great stuff there Joel! You of all people deserve some extra holiday cheer. It says a lot that you received it by giving more of yourself. I'm proud to have you as one of my "fake cyberfriends". [thumbsup]
That's awesome BP! [bow_down]
Might have to do a Santa run in New Orleans.

looks great!!! The red/white helmet looks great (rather than the black darth vader helmet).
Gotta get a shot of Poser Santa in front of Starbucks standing next to his Ducati!!! [laugh]
reindeer antlers for the headlights can be found at the Pet Store. We bought some for the cat, and they should be about the right size!!
The best part was that Santa hat flappin' in the breeze.... [laugh]
OK, the best best part was that little girl blowin' you a kiss... :-*
but the Santa hat's a close second. [moto]
I think you might need to send a shot of your helmet "mod" to Ducati. :D

Hey Santa,
What is the proper method for attaching the hat to one's Arai? ???
(or should I post this is in Tech, Gear or Acc & Mods? ;D)
sincerely,
Aspiring Ducati-Santa
my Scorpion has vents at the rear, and by pulling out the liner, I have access to the holes. I zip-tied the hat on using the holes.
^^^ [thumbsup]
I did the same thing with my elf hat & tested it to 105mph with out a problem!
One thing to mention, with the zipties through the vent holes... you can't close the vent holes so your head may get cold.

It was awesome! Hundreds of smiles (biggest 2 on Joel & myself), hundreds of candy canes, 2 bikes, 3 hours & we covered 30 miles.
One thing of note: it is difficult to toss candy canes with motorcycle gloves on. Triple that difficulty from moving vehicle to moving vehicle. [laugh]

You first! I don't even have time these days to mount the Moto-Gadget gauges to my '95 or time to fix the carbs!!! --geez--
I've got an '01 750 engine that you could use as a basis for your launcher...just keep in mind that candy is good....but candy at 40mph is bad. [laugh]

Getting complacent as you age. Triple digits and 1/4 mile range are a must. [evil]
If you use a 620 for the launcher you can get it to 140!

Im sure only the bad children will get decapitated. Good children are behind the cinder-block walls in churches and school, and so we need a delivery system that can reach them. ;D
The cinder blocks will slow the candy canes enough that only mild bruising shall occur. [moto]
[thumbsup] [moto] ;D
Awesone Joel! [thumbsup]
(and Stu, too.)
quick question.... anybody know how to get melted Christmas shopping bag plastic off of chrome exhaust?
It would appear I melted somebodies Christmas present [evil]
Soften it with solvent perhaps? Then if you're brave carefully scrape it off with a new razor blade. Otherwise try a fingernail or wood wedge or anything non abrasive.
The razor blade works well when held in your fingers at a relatively flat angle to the surface. This reduces the opportunity for scratching/gouging to occur.
Here you go...try oven cleaner.
