I'm not sure if anyone else here has noticed, but there seems to be a global epidemic of this particular thing.
I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but around 4-5years ago when I was in my early twenties, the ground seems to have gotten harder. Somehoe laying on concrete, steel gratings, and gravel for extended periods causes all sorts of discomfort. I mean-that stuff didn't hurt before-why now?
What made today's diamond plate worse than my feather bed?
This is clearly a major environmental issue.
That'd be a dreaded global aging.
i thought you were talking about my titanium member for a second...

I'm as good as I ever was. Tis the ground, I swear.

maybe thats why I felt so violated when I went sledding the other day. :o
But I do agree- the ground is much harder than I remember- especially after getting air on the jumps. Maybe I need to change out the sled for a tube. Its like one big 'roid doughnut!

Maybe it's not the ground. (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=14723.msg255081#msg255081) ;) :-*

hmmm, I didn't have any trouble on my recent kayaking/camping trip, didn't even bother to bring a pillow with me.

How fast were you going when you slammed your head to the ground?
Trust me...
it's gotten harder. [laugh]
Now that you mention it ???
The hardening ground is just a symptom of a greater issue. Gravity is getting stronger. That makes the ground mush together more and then you get harder ground. We need to fix gravity.
Actually, I'm now starting to think that what we have in global shrinkage.
Remember how big everything was when you were kid? Okay, so what happened to make everything smaller?
And as everything shrinks, it gets denser and therefore harder.
This also explains why my leathers from the late '80s are kinda stiff and don't even come close to fitting anymore.

Its not gravity, its the population boom on the other side of the planet. Their weight is pushing our ground into us.
now that i think about it the ground is getting harder, when i slowed myself down with my helmet after wrecking a year and a half ago, it seemed to hurt a bit, but from what i recall when i was younger i did that several times and it didn't phase me what so ever so it must be gettin harder
It's propaganda I say!
The ground is getting softer. How else do you explain how i track mud into the house after walking from my car, across my blacktop driveway onto my fieldstone porch and into the house?
Damn stone is getting soft.

I think you're on to something...
Gravity sucks. ;)

Gravity is just a theory. Anyone can disprove it, anytime.
