So it was a kit that you ordered directly from Ducati then.
I bought the bike used from a small local dealer whao got it as a dealer trade and he wasn't sure what the history on the paint was.
Thanks for letting me know.

No it was built and is owned by Simon Parrot.
He rides it to work (and resulted in the loss of his licence)
I worked with him on the design for the small radiator

i personally love the black dogo. it's partially responsible for inspiring me to get a monster.

^^^^^ Ooooooh, I like that rear cowl (minus the shit all over it). I can't stand the stock cowl, but it looks better than a full black seat with a yellow tank.

All the work was carried out by Dave Wood.
The camera is rearward facing and eliminates mirrors.

Thanks [beer] I love that bike. I did a stop and drop and got "the dent". So I was shoping around to get it fixed and found D Dog in Chico.
He got all excited, never painted a Duc befor, mostly harleys and cars. He started talking fire and screaming skulls.
I said ''I'll go for the fire, but not the screaming skulls." Thought that may be a little to much.
The guy is really a good artist.

Wow, love her in the olive green, I just assumed more sedate colour schemes wouldn't look all that great on the Monsters (it's not like you ever see them), but she's gorgeous. I get a really WWII vibe from it for some reason.
I agree: the green looks fantastic.

engine paint by Duck-Stew! ;D
doh! absolutely, and it was no easy task!!
I couldn't decide to go old school or new school so I did both. The red is outlined by a thin orange pinstripe (hard to see in the picture). This started out as a plain black Monster and was a little boring. The rearsets, levers, mirrors, etc are from DPM. Exhaust is a DP Supertrapp. The only new change from this picture is a Sport Classic front fender, more old school.

As homage to those that have customized and painted there bikes; lets start a start a thread with custom paintjobs there should be a bunch showing now that the custom monster challenge has started. Everyones entitled to there own opinion.
;D
I went for the Classic Name-Style Look. Megaphone Exhaust, seat badge off of bevel head, center striping, and font change for tank badges.

Where did you get the ducati name badge? cool!
Is that a centred straight stripe? custom painted or stock?
Also a closer pic of the bike would be nice.
I got the Ducati Logo badge from BevelHeaven, the stripe and the rest of the paint job (tank logos and belly pan) are custom - I liked center stripes better than the S*R series off-center stripes, and wanted the old-school logos. Crashing has its advantages, one of them being new paint jobs.
Here's two more pics (I'm not a great photographer):

(Note: The hideous grips in this picture are no longer on the bike.)
Thats a classy bike, the old school logos are sweet [clap]
Thanks! [thumbsup]

Looks good, it looks like the Matrix green used on the Monsters.

...looks like?
:'(
Wait, its not?
Or are you saying that's what you were going for? I think it looks spot on. Except for the logos, which don't have the silly matrix-waterfall through them

The cowl wasn't painted...
just the tank.
It's dead nuts. ;)
The green is stunning.

Hahaha... Yeah the silly Matrix tank is in the garage on a shelf, I want it in my living room but my girl is not yet convinced [drink]. Ducpainter color matched the gold 80s font to the gas cap, and of course the green matches the fenders and cowl I already had, so yes the color is the same green as the Matrix edition because my bike started as just that.

Figure out a way to make the tank be the center piece of a glass-topped coffee table.
Instant conversation starter.
Friend of mine's dad had a ZR1 engine block coffee table. Even before I knew what the hell it was, I knew it was effin' awesome.

Never thought of that! Now my brain is cranking on how I will make a coffee table out of my tank, she's watching me laugh and asking "what's so funny?"

Oh snap! She just read this and told me to hang it on the wall!! But she said once we have kids she has to approve where I put it ;D ;D ;D
She just said, "I'll say yeah because I know you won't do it!"
[beer] Maybe I can use it as a Ducati Matrix flower pot? She might go for that... Actually think she just gave me the green light on this! [thumbsup]
Edit: ok, she just clarified that she has to pick where it goes, I need to get a nice gas cap and wax it though...

Odd. Most women insist on approving where you put it before kids.
