So, guess who has a bike for sale?
On TOB
C'Mon, you gotta guess!
NO HINTS!
Yea, I saw it yesterday....
Am I mistaken but did he raise his price since the last time it was for sale and after it's been lowsided? [coffee]
I'm sure he made some upgrades...suspension at least.
[coffee] .... [laugh]
He must have found a deal on a 1098.
I can't log into tob so I've no idea what his game is. Was hoping the whole debacle would just fade into obscurity.
No such luck, I guess [bang]
I think he spent about $1,600. at AMS if memory serves...

Was he thinking about getting a 1098? [coffee]
Well, I for one hope he sells it this time. But that will be a hard job given that you have to find someone who doesn't mind paying good money for a wrecked bike. Not that it's a total mess but it will need a complete body makeover and I am not familiar with the brand (or quality) of track bodywork he has to go with the bike. I suppose if someone was looking for a Tamburini track day bike this could be it... if obtained for the right price and you were not picky about appearance.
why isn't anyone guessing? is it Cory!? he finally had enough of the monster? now he wants an old SS because he's secretly in love with square headlights... there's one for sale in arlington dude! and it's #926....you would be only 5 older than mine.
Hey now, Rich, calm down! I have dibs on the SS, I'm still waiting for the owner to get back to me. I'm hoping to see it on Friday [vroom] [moto] [vroom]
Seriously? I thought you were leaning (no pun intended) towards another Monster or Multistrada?
Yeah I was, but if the price is right. It never hurts to look [evil]

don't suppose you want to trade wheels if/when you get it...?
the guy said it's due for valve adjustment but that was it... damn good price if it's in good shape, though.
ooo oo, I'll give another hint... the same person ask if I'd be interested or know anybody else looking for a bike...
Oh, the suspense [evil]
followed by a great deal on gear and mods!

Oh man... I can't, for the life of me, figure this one out! :-\
Give us a hint.
Has the seller ever been in the Marines?
I would like to answer "Who is DFB?" for $500 Alex...

ahhh, shhyeeeeah....duh. [says the guy who's had one for all of a week and doesn't know anything about them yet]
Great to see that you guys have been talking so nicely about me thinking I wouldn't be around...thanks? :-\
Anyway, yeah the bike's for sale, no I'm not getting a 1098, and no, there will be no deals on gear. For serious this time, I have to stay off two wheels. Time to be a big boy and place "need to do" ahead of "want to have".
Brian, ask Scott about the quality of the other bodywork that I have for the bike. He got some for his 1098.
And yes I did upgrade the suspension, completely, and the steering dampener, and the oil cooler (although not by choice on that one). There's been some funds put into this bike to improve it for sure. I'd say my price is fair. I've done my homework. It's actually lower than some of what I've seen out there. True, the bike has been "wrecked", however seeing as how most all the damage was A) cosmetic and B) someone gets a free set of bodywork out of the deal, I don't see that big a problem. Everything has been replaced/fixed/improved that needed to be, save the bodywork, and I'm not going to paint it if someone else wants to buy the bike and do their own thing with the bodywork. So hey, someone gets a track body and a street body. Fair deal, no?

oh, yeah...totally fair. you're selling for around like $3k, right?
Joseph, I haven't really seen Scott's track duty fairing but I'm sure both of you wouldn't have bought them if they weren't decent quality and a good price. After all that's what you want in track day bodywork! Again, good luck with the sale! As I said... would make a great Tamburini track bike at a good price! Or a nice "streeter" if someone has a good painter lined up to do the extra bodywork... heck do that and use the scratched up Fila fairing for track duty! [thumbsup]
Somehow this thread has degenerated to the discussion of track day bodywork, so...
What we're talking about is E-Racings, http://e-racings.com/
Mediocre quality, but d@mn cheap- $400. shipped for a complete 1098 set.
It took Randy & I a loooong time to fit it properly, & then the painter spent time sanding, but in the end I think the result is very nice.
Other stuff's twice the price, & I think the DP stuff is 3 times a s much.

Yep, you get what you pay for ;)

You know I've heard both good and bad about e-racings when it comes to fitting. I read around a lot before I bought into them, and some of the stuff I saw the people that had bought them just put them straight on, no extra fitting required, and then others had to take the time to fit them like you did. I talked with a guy in Weatherford (Mike Patterson, Totally Graphic Designs, who actually is a dealer for e-racings) and he told me that the only reason for that is because of how fast they're mass produced. He did tell me for certain that they're not as bad as some of the crap that's out there, but sure they're not sharkskinz. He did say though that he's never had trouble painting/sanding/etc. with them, and that he's always been very impressed with how little fixing up they needed prior to painting.
Maybe it's the 1098 set, or just my set, but they're very mediocre, but Hey! That's what I could afford [thumbsup]
