Great to see that you guys have been talking so nicely about me thinking I wouldn't be around...thanks?
Anyway, yeah the bike's for sale, no I'm not getting a 1098, and no, there will be no deals on gear. For serious this time, I have to stay off two wheels. Time to be a big boy and place "need to do" ahead of "want to have".
Brian, ask Scott about the quality of the other bodywork that I have for the bike. He got some for his 1098.
And yes I did upgrade the suspension, completely, and the steering dampener, and the oil cooler (although not by choice on that one). There's been some funds put into this bike to improve it for sure. I'd say my price is fair. I've done my homework. It's actually lower than some of what I've seen out there. True, the bike has been "wrecked", however seeing as how most all the damage was A) cosmetic and B) someone gets a free set of bodywork out of the deal, I don't see that big a problem. Everything has been replaced/fixed/improved that needed to be, save the bodywork, and I'm not going to paint it if someone else wants to buy the bike and do their own thing with the bodywork. So hey, someone gets a track body and a street body. Fair deal, no?

Joseph, I haven't really seen Scott's track duty fairing but I'm sure both of you wouldn't have bought them if they weren't decent quality and a good price. After all that's what you want in track day bodywork! Again, good luck with the sale! As I said... would make a great Tamburini track bike at a good price! Or a nice "streeter" if someone has a good painter lined up to do the extra bodywork... heck do that and use the scratched up Fila fairing for track duty!

Somehow this thread has degenerated to the discussion of track day bodywork, so...
What we're talking about is E-Racings,
http://e-racings.com/
Mediocre quality, but d@mn cheap- $400. shipped for a complete 1098 set.
It took Randy & I a loooong time to fit it properly, & then the painter spent time sanding, but in the end I think the result is very nice.
Other stuff's twice the price, & I think the DP stuff is 3 times a s much.

You know I've heard both good and bad about e-racings when it comes to fitting. I read around a lot before I bought into them, and some of the stuff I saw the people that had bought them just put them straight on, no extra fitting required, and then others had to take the time to fit them like you did. I talked with a guy in Weatherford (Mike Patterson, Totally Graphic Designs, who actually is a dealer for e-racings) and he told me that the only reason for that is because of how fast they're mass produced. He did tell me for certain that they're not as bad as some of the crap that's out there, but sure they're not sharkskinz. He did say though that he's never had trouble painting/sanding/etc. with them, and that he's always been very impressed with how little fixing up they needed prior to painting.

Maybe it's the 1098 set, or just my set, but they're very mediocre, but Hey! That's what I could afford
