I brought it up because my buddies and i all named our saturns in high school. (yes, maybe 3 of us had saturns) one was Tupper (plastic car, tupperware) mine was Urple, because it looked black, but really, in bright light you could tell it was purple. ugggh, i still drive it too But that's okay, because now i own a Ducati!!!!! the S2R never was named, and yes I lost her before 2 years. Maybe your theory is correct!! It was difficult to quantify her - she was strong, beautiful, I loved her dearly (does that make me gay??) but she defied a name. Didn't know anyone those traits. Now have a BMW tourer, and she's just the beemer, cause she's lacking in personality. just picked up a 1975 Yahama XS 650. She's gonna be a cafe racer (hopefully by this summer), and OH YEAH!!! she's gonna get a name!!! This thing's got personality (and then some). hubby's first POS was called Wanda. 1982 virago 1000 cc's of 'balls to the walls' or nothing. Fickle!! hubby's current bike is Athena. 2002 Warrior and she's a beauty!!! 1600 cc's of thrust, beautiful throaty voice, and looks to knock your sock off!! yeah, bikes should be named. I've never named any of my bikes, I don't get attached to them, I just beat the crap out of them, and either sell them or throw them away. They're just motorcycles. I think of my bike as male. He's loud, dirty, intimidating, has a few scars, and talks me into being a hooligan. Interestingly enough I'm the same way. Though I have already posted here the names of my two bikes, I think I've also mentioned that they are never called by those names. The naming of the bikes was more of a poetic formality for me, but never something I would actually say.
