This one time at my MSF class a student showed up with yellow dish gloves as his riding gear for the day.. "smacks head" :o
Just so u all know he didn't pass the class..
shit i wish i would have known that.......instead i used gardening gloves.....
the yellow would have suited me better ;D
but i could have pulled it off....cause im soo damn charming in all sexy nipple danceness 8)
Ok, so you knew this was coming:
-American Pie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYWQAg12Ko0#lq-hq)
DucMouse...Gardening gloves?? And you passed. Hmmm. Ok, the first time I took it 12 years ago (and yes, I passed) I made the mistake of wearing driving gloves. You know, the kind with the holes in the knuckles and backside of the hands. Can anyone say "tan lines"? DOH! [bang]

Ok well too top this off.. The third time I went to my msf course I brought my dad along.. I bet u couldn't guess what he brought as his gloves.. This is scary.. It's like Daja vvuuu... Awweee
of course i passed!!
and it was a last min thing...when i signed up i had it the following week, so i just kinda grabbed whatever i could [laugh]
I came ovevdressed for the prom, as usual. [laugh] [laugh] See my avatar? That's what I wore. Ask Kawboy. He was there. It's kind of hilarious since I was riding a Kawasaki Eliminator, I think? Seat height was lower than my first dirtbike, a YZ80 Yamaha. But here's how I see it:
Fortunately for you, Bonfy, you had already been riding for some time and only took the class as a formality. Most of the rest of us were just getting started. Mousey, when I said "and you passed" it wasn't a question. :-*
[roll]
This is true, the class was a formaility. Actually, not having a drivers license for upwards of eleven years precluded me taking the class prior to that. (Party on Garth!) :-[ They can be really nit-picky about those little inconveniences. But as soon as I became eligible, I set about procuring the necessary certificates of legitimacy and found myself shortly in possession of a brand new Ducati and a Dodge that had been driven/ridden like a rented mule for God knows how long. Seemed like a good time to take the MSF. I almost failed the section on the final test for hard braking. Visions of locking up the Duc were so stuck in my head. The mind forgets, but the body remembers. The test guy gave me a pass since I had demonstrated proficiency during the class sessions. ;D Good times!!
I wore a toga and flip flops. All the chicks wanted me. 8)
Heck, they want you anyway just because you can spell that "whatever it is" in your signature line. I've been looking for that teepee looking thingy on my keyboard for an hour now.
I don't even know if it's spelled right, but that's gotta be hot..........right? :-*

Stacey and Clinton would so disapprove! You're not allowed to wear anything that is comfy!
This thread had me reminiscing about those few days of instruction at the MSF class. What a pleasure it was to meet Kawboy, trading paint with him on the corners, watching him doing stoppees and endos in the box while I Jorged on Turn 1 when we practiced the large figure eights. By Day 3, we were old hats, droppin a knee while taking the cones. Droppin a foot when we came in from our practice laps. Beginner MSF was so entertaining, can't wait for the Intermediate class. Yeah. They stuck me on a semi dirt bike that had fatboys at both ends and you were on that massive 250 cruiser all laid back and bad looking and exactly the wrong position to maneuver a bike around a figure 8. I don't know how you did it but you did. [bow_down] It must have been like trying to maneuver a recliner around. I didn't even have the Roadrunner at that time. :(
I don't think they have an intermediate class. I believe it is an advanced class where you use your own bike.
Forget that! If I'm using my own bike, it might as well be a track day. Duc's and tight parking lots are natural enemies.
About that 250 they gave me, it was at least as manueverable as the CB750 I barged around on before I got the Duc. Probably 300 pounds lighter, too. [laugh] Yeah, those were some good times.
Ah yes...I remember those days. My first time taking it in '91 was fun. Don't remember much other than being told to stop making the new riders look bad. That little 250 was toooooo much fun. Couldn't seem to get it fast enough in corners. I took it again in Honolulu in early '07 on my McNinja (f*ing military rules). There, you have to use your own bike (MSF and Hawaii DMV didn't agree on a few things). This young lad on a 250 Rebel was having SUCH a hard time with the whole clutch-throttle bit. Seems the friction zone eluded him a bit......
Ah...memories (sniff). :'(

DDGM, waiting in the wings, ready to swoop in with a well-timed addition to my list of accomplishments. ;D
Pinky is exactly the same as last I posted. It has locked itself into the exact angle of derailment as the day of the mishap. I wrestled and wrangled it, doing my version of rehab, wore the little contraption they gave me nonstop, and yet, no improvement. I can only hope that my next job does not require scooping up ball bearings or fist-clenching of the left hand. Picture to follow as soon as I can take it and upload.
So you are saying that boxing is not in your future? (http://smileydatabase.com/s/865.gif)
No boxing, but a mean eye-poking (three stooges style) may be an option.

Tanya and I are in the same age group and we probably work out about the same amount. If she doesn't bring her club, I may be able to hang in the ring with her a few rounds.

Hey Bonfy,
My little guy...speaking of my left pinky...looks very similar to the picture you posted. Come to think of it I remember comparing pinkies with you before except I got mine that way by attempting surgery with a circular saw. I did all the exercises as well but only have limited motion...just another war injury ;)
I seriously considered starting a new thread called "Show me your pinkee" after Zaster's post, but I figured it would get locked within 16 minutes or whatever the PR set by Kingbaby was last week.
Yes, we did compare pinkees and I remember feeling very hopeful that I might attain the level of mobility you have. Not happening yet and it seems to be turning into stone instead of the opposite.
On a sidenote, besides Zaster, other left broken pinkees have been surfacing. It is the Law of Attraction. My daughter-in-law's father proudly displayed his sadly misshapen digit. He was at peace with his malformation mainly because he said it is now perfectly angled for picking his nose. I don't find that to be the case at all due to limited strength and flexibility. Might as well use a chopstick.
Then a girlfriend of mine from high school mentioned in her Christmas letter that her daughter broke the same pinkee in gymnastic. She sent me some tips via email on home rehab.

Listen you young whipper shnappers, I figured I could get away with that seeing as I'm the old man of the bunch. ;D
The most memorable (and funniest) time I ever heard that little rhyme was when I met Scottish's soon-to-be-in-law's for the first time. We went to dinner and one of the us ordered lemonade. He just absent-mindedly started reciting it. When he got past milk, milk, lemonade, his face just seized up in horror as we all looked on expectantly. Then we burst out laughing and it was one of those things that still strikes us as absolutely hilarious. Later in the dinner, when the father-in-law bit into a cherry peppeer and squirted juice all the way across the table onto Scottish's shirt, we completely lost it. It was definitely one of those you-had-to-be-there moments. [laugh] [laugh]
Oops, I was so caught up in Memory Lane that I missed the post where Kawboy called us old farts. That's okay. It goes with the territory down there. Age is relative. Right?
