I am wondering if there is a special tool that I need to use to adjust the rear preload? I did a search and could not find the answer. I already adjusted the dampening.
Thanks,
Rene
i can only speak for myself here...
used a big rubber mallet and a large screw driver (with the head wrapped in a rag)
here is one of several good resources for info on suspensions adjustments (not sure if that was what you were looking for, but WTH)

Thanks that link is very helpful. I am surprised there is no tool. I had one for the progressive shocks on one of my old bikes.
my bad...........there are tools available for this.......just never saw the need
they look something like this

well, there is prob no need, if you have a mallet and the other tools. my tools are very limited, and does not include a mallet. i should get one though. i could have used one a couple of times...
rubber mallets are good for lots of stuff.
they make very good "persuaders" on bikes..
i bought one of the motionpro wrenches for adjusting preload, like the one pictured above, and ended up using a mallet and screwdriver because it was impossible to turn the wrench. so i wouldnt waste the money, invest in a nice dead blow mallet instead.

Rene, good to see you here. I would not use the hammer & screwdriver on your new bike, wait until you can find the proper tool. I'm sure that either XLXR or I have one that would work.

Hi Ivan!!!! Glad to see someone I know!! What a coincidence!!! I am sure XLXR told you all about my BIG BIKE DECISION! He and I were on the phone many times, and he did share some information from you.
I can not wait to go for a ride with the two of you..... Maybe next Sunday I can come up to Orange County??
