Had something to do in Melb on Sun 5th of April which has now fallen through  [bang].  Will still be in Melb as other things now booked for the Saturday.

So does any one want to meet up?  For a) brekky - given that it's a Sunday, some research required as to venues that will be open  [coffee] [bacon]
b) a ride - just as long as it's heading west - I have to get home for work on the Monday   [moto]
c) obtain OzMonster cards (will have to get Nick/Matty to send some down)  [thumbsup]

d)  all of the above

Hello, I may be able to attend this. I believe "The ride for the hills" ( a fundraising event for the communities affected by the recent bush fires here in VIC) is on that day. Starts in St Kilda. Could be potential for a carding operation. Just a thought.  :)

Bewdy a Ballarat meet up in the future then?  Not quite so far for me to travel.  I've been to L'espresso a few times I think.

Anywhere we don't have to wait for a table, not too noisy, and has a 1/2 decent coffee. Gee's I'm sounding old already :( I might have to take up bowls soon.

I've only had a takeaway coffee from Porgies...  Coffee was good...  It's not a very big place...  Parking on Auburn Road is hit and miss...

The places that have been devastated by the recent fires have been part of the motorcycle scene in Victoria for so long now.  They have been places that have welcomed us, :) fed us, [popcorn] entertained us, [beer] and for whatever reason have been great places to visit.  [moto] I think it's a great idea that the motorcycling community wants to give something back.  [clap]

Heatherp, I know that Whittlesea is not really west but it's only a little bit north and imagine the fun we could have as the Oz Monsters representatives in such a fantastic event.  Think of the carding potential too!  ;D

So my suggestion is brekky  [coffee] [bacon] in St Kilda somewhere and then join the throng for a cruise  [moto] up to Whittlesea.

I agree totally with the sentiments behind this ride.

The thought of attending did cross my mind.  The logiistics are a little difficult.  ie 4 hour ride home and work the following day (I'm not a wuss - I do extremely full on 12 hour shifts!!!). 

I also find the thought of riding with that many other bikes just a little (read hugely) daunting.  Would find it easier if I had some friendly faces to ride with.   [roll]

Did you notice they are advising people to rock up at 8.30am.  Sort of rules out a lesiurely sunday morning brekky.

Originally I was going to be doing a workshop on Sunday and would not have been free to do the brekky thing.  So I organised a night out for the Saturday and booked a room.  Now the workshop thing has been postponed and I was left with a (Wotif) hotel booking and ticket to a show which I coundn't cancel.

So in reality, I was going to sneak into town and do non-bike related things.  shhhh - don't tell anyone.

And who's couch would you have me sleeping on anyway?

If anyone is offering - I need 1 weeks accommodation in May for a course I'm doing!!! Course is in the city and goes late at night (10pm) and would need to be near public tranpsort ;D

I really tried, I actually pulled up OK on Sunday so my wife and I were about to walk out the door to go to Brekky (yes I was going to drag her along) when the phone rang, disaster at work, systems down. I was working until 5:00pm - so wasn't a great birthday :(  poor me..... boo hoo...
