Im on the National Do NOt call registry and for some reason there is this ONE NUMBER that will NOT stop calling me. Its about lower my automotive car insurance rates before my car gets reclassified.
THey call about 4 times a day, and ive asked them nicely, they hang up on me, and ive cuss the shit out of them, and the guy cussed back and hung up on me.
Can't even google who they are. Does anyone else get this stupid call?
I get the car warranty calls
i assume youve had no luck stopping them? :-\
every time they call me i press whatever button it says to speak to someone and put on my acting hat. when i get to speak to them i use my best southern redneck voice and start talking about how my 1972 camaro just started smoking pretty good and asking if their warranty takes care of that. half the time i dont make it all the way through the question before they hang up.
ive had one ask if thats my newest car and when i said yes he told me i will be taken off the list, so i responded with a "thank you very much sir" in my normal tone. you could almost touch the confusion through the phone.
If the number comes up on your caller i.d. you should be able to enter that information at http://www.donotcall.gov (http://www.donotcall.gov)
Every time this happens to me, I report it. If you don't they aren't going to be persuaded to stop...
I dont have a caller ID :(...but if i hook the phone line to my Direct TV, its suppose to pop up on the screen so ill try watching TV till they call again.
I really want to meet the person on the other line, dont they know they are working for a scam company?
Sorry, but how do you not have caller ID?
We found the best solution was an Answering Machine, they will not talk to an answering machine, We have told all our friends let the machine answer and when you hear the beep just start chatting away , we listen in to see who it is, if it is friends or family we answer.
we find it works well in 2 ways
1. The Telemarketers keep trying but after a few months they gave up, we never gets calls anymore. and we are not on the do not call list.
2. If it's a friend or family member we just don't want to talk to, simple, we were out when you called!
Winner all round [thumbsup]

I'm talking about a landline not a cell. and even then, i think i have to pay extra for caller ID because i have the most basic of basic packages. $13 a month + .10cent per a call outgoing, free incoming.

Gonna try that. just need to setup the answering machine. (strange how i have one of those but no caller ID eh? lol)
ditch the land line.
i have never received a telemarketing call on my cell. ever.
we've considering getting rid of the land line... only thing stopping us is the security system

i get the warrenty ones on my cell, usually get hung up on when i tell them i have 230000 miles on my 98 dakota
check out the work of Tom Mabe. He's like the jerky boys, but he's messing w/ telemarketers that call him. It's some wonderful stuff.

I've received a couple on my cell phone. The number is all over the place though as I have had it for over ten years.
I was sitting the desk at work for a couple minutes a few weeks ago (911 dispatch) and got one of those calls on one of our direct lines (number other then 911). [evil] I pushed #1 to talk to someone then had a nice talk with them about who they just called and how they can be criminally charged for calling us. That was fun.
I get the auto warranty one on my cell several time a week. :-\
Our only land line is our business line, so we just tell them it is a business line and they are not allowed to call us again, and to take us off their list.
It is kinda hard to get away with when you answer with your name only, but try answering with something like "Franklin Apartment's Management, this is Dave, how may I help you?" Your friends who call should know it is you from your voice and think you are just messing around, but just do it until you get the telemarketers again. It always works for us, we used to get about 6 - 7 calls EVERY day from telemarketers and now it is only about once every two or three months. Try it out, it might work.

PS: Names in this message have been changed to protect the innocent; not that anyone here really falls under that category.

I was getting those, too. Every message they left said this is your second chance. Wow, I have a lot of second chances.
I never answered and after about two weeks, they didn't call any more.
I was receiving calls on my cell from an agency offering to help me reduce my (non existent) credit card debt. After telling them I am on the "do not call" list and asking them not to call proved useless I decided to talk to an agent. I had him on the phone for a good half hour or more before telling him I have no credit card debt. No calls after that.
