My S2R 800, in its full, unwashed, wintery grime-covered glory.
Let me know what you guys think!
The list of mods to date include:
• Zard 2-2 full system
• Rizoma rearsets (what a pain these were to install...)
• Tail chop [thumbsup]
• Rizoma Sportline grips
• Rizoma reservoir (also a PITA)
• Rizoma Zero-11 turn signals
• Black headlight ring
• Suburban Machinery Bars
Might be some stuff I'm forgetting...
Definitely will be more to come next off-season!

Looks good! [thumbsup] What mirrors are those? I like 'em.
Thanks ;D
Those are some cheapo $40 bar-end mirrors off of eBay.
They are mounted directly to the bar. The Sportline grips are about 1/4" shorter than standard rubber grips, so you have a tiny bit of bar exposed that you can mount standard bar-end mirrors to.
Lookin' Good!

Did you pain your headlight?
Looks good.
Apparently your version of 'winter grime' is a little different than mine. Looks clean [beer]

Did you pain your headlight?
Yup. Scuffed it with some metal sanding paper, primed it with Duplicolor Engine Enamel PRIMER, Painted with Duplicolor Engine Enamel Low-Gloss Black.
Turned out great. Wish i would have sanded better though.

don't wash the bike... I hear bolts will fall off and it will rust instantly
I'm a big fan of Zards and those look great on your bike.
I also like the license plate [evil]
My first thought was "holy shit, he took my bike!"
Mine is very similar, I've got a '06 S2R 800, Tangerine+Black, SilMoto carbon exhaust, Sato black rearsets, tail chop, black headlight ring, Rizoma signals, other stuff too. I'll try to find a resent pic with all the new stuff.
Oh yeah, Looks Beautiful!!
She's a beauty. [thumbsup] You're rightly proud of it.

I think those are CRG mirrors if i'm not mistaken, have the same one.Bike looks great! like what you did with the heat shield on the pipes BTW.
[drink] for the heat shield! I can dig it
Hey Corey,
Thanks for posting your pics, she looks sweet [thumbsup]
I don't know if it's quite to the extent that Melvins bike is, being his has Ohlins front/rear
there is also a custom painted frame (hard to see in photos) plus painted engine parts.
I'm not exactly sure how much he's spent but lets say he had a generous offer last year
something near the $20k mark (AUD) that is and he said no in the end.
So I'm guessing it owes him a fair bit.
Can't wait to see where you go from here for your next set of mods after the summer season.

Not to mention grimy clogged oil leaks will start leaking again when the clog is cleaned out.

It's from Targa, you can get it at motorcycle-superstore.com
I didn't want to fork over $65 + Ship for a carbon one...

Thanks Again!
Mirrors are just knock-offs though. Only difference i have found between these and the CRGs is that mine are billet steel, powdercoated black and the CRGs are billet aluminum, anodized black.
same EXACT design though.

oh most definitely.
his bike is very sick indeed.
forks (or fork cartridges) are my next big investment. i'm probably going to end up doing matris cartridges and keep the stock fork bodies.
might go black on them though ;D
i have a lot of work to do for sure!
You call that winter grime? You got work to do! Nice bike [thumbsup]

saves me from having to fab a set
How do you like those bars? I bought a pair for my s4 but I got a stock s4r bar and love it. Never did run em on my monster, but I put em on my chop and they look and feel great on that.
LOVE the Suburban Mach. bars.
I have considered going further and switching to clip-ons, but it would be for purely aesthetic reasons.
I love the way the suburban machinery bars feel. The ergonomics of the bike are PERFECT for me.
Plenty low, and plenty sporty. Lot's of nice front end weight and feel now, compared to the stock Magura bars.
I do love the look of a nice clean top triple though ;D
The bars are perfect for the monsters.
It's nice that they have all the holes pre-drilled and everything too. Install is a snap.
i'm diggin the license plate
unfortunately, the plate is not real...
it contains a 6.. i did the mark of the beast as a way to prevent my real plate from being on the interwebz.
wish it was real though...
Those Zards look great. I just ordered a full system for my S2R1k and can't wait for it to get there.
I'm going to have to check into your heat shield there...that looks really good, much better than my plan of just re-installing the stock ones.
Have fun with the install ;D
These pipes were a BEAR to get fitted.
You're going to need some good, high temp exhaust sealant, a rubber mallet, and a lot of patience.
I used Permatex® Muffler and Tailpipe Sealer. It's good up to 2000°F (1000°C), and worked PERFECT.
I was very liberal with it too, especially since i was reusing the headerpipe joint seals.
The part number on the Permatex package is MTK-1.

Advance Auto had it.
Okay... SO..
A little update.
Turns out that the heat shield doesnt work very well... Mostly because it's not covering both pipes...
My Sidi Stadas are not liking the Zard system very much...
Exhaust wrap on it's way... I'll post up my solution...
Looks great man. Hope to see it at a Monster night sometime. I like the exhaust it let you see the rear wheel better than the double one side style.

Well done, Corey! [thumbsup]
Your bike looks sweet! How do you like the Rizoma rearsets? Are they as adjustable as they look? BTW, I like the look of the Zards too. [clap]

LOVE the rearsets. Definitely worth the cash.
They have increased my comfort severely. I was having some problems with cramped hips and knees, and it seems to be a thing of the past.
I have found some clearance issues with the heel guard plate on the right (brake) side due to the exhaust, but it's as simple as just not putting it on.
I also had to do a small custom 'ding' in the one exhaust pipe to create a little more room for my rear brake pedal if ever move my rearsets back another notch.
And yes, you can adjust the shit out of them. Everything moves and rotates in some way or another. It's awesome.
If you're thinking about buying them, go for it. It's a worthy investment indeed.
Be prepared to spend some time on the install, and make sure you put blue loctite on EVERYTHING (except the swingarm bolt, that gets grease).
Also, the one end of the heim joint for your shift linkage has a reverse thread ;D stupid make the beast with two backser...
and i WILL be at some monster nights this year.
I just want to say, that I'm pretty sure that because of this thread..
if you google S2R800 (all one word)...
my bike is the first result you get.
Go DMF.
