I am sad to be selling my Monster, but I have to say I can't friggin wait to get the new bike!! I dropped off the deposit today on my new black beauty of a 2009 Daytona 675! There's just so much bike there it's scary in a good way. Here she is:

Picking her up Wednesday and going to try to set up a dyno break-in before any/much riding.
that is hottttttt [thumbsup] [evil]
Awesome bike. My buddy at work has one. We've gone on a quite a few rides together. That thing is a rocket.
You're going to love it (but, you know that already!). ;D
Have fun!

Triumph is doing 5.9% financing on the Daytona as well, so got locked into a great financing deal. Dealer gave me a $350 store credit since I bought the Duc there, and my insurance is only $47 more expensive a year with this bike than the 695. All said, I couldn't turn it down. ;D
Looks great but why the dyno break in. How about some good old riding break in. Dyno's are hard on tires too.
The 675 is a great package ~

Meh
If I was going to get a fully faired bike, I'd totally get a Triumph.
My sweetie has a red one but despite it being a lot of fun to ride, she's never been able to find the love for it that she had for her 749. :-\
Looks hot! Congrats!!!
Congradulations. That's powerful awesome bike. Ride safe ! [thumbsup]
Looking for a full review after you get some seat time on it. [thumbsup]
Absolutely beautiful! What kinda power does it put out?

mini nuclear. the specs on that bike are almost unbelieveable. 357lbs 130hp out of that little thing.
Geeez, where do you go from there? :o Don't trust myself that much to have that much power, nice bike though.

Awesome bike, if I were not looking for another Monster I would look long and hard at a 675
Yeah, its definitely a step up from the 695. From all that I've read by both reviewers and riders on the Triumph forum, it is pretty much the perfect blend of track ready rocket, and street capable bike. Tops out about 156 (way faster than I'll ever go), and pulls low 11's in the quarter mile at about 123-124 mph. Couldn't even get the Monster up to that, let alone in 11 seconds... :o
I will definitely give a full review once I get some time on it.

749 is hard to beat. Combine the power with the looks and sound of that bike, and I can understand it.

I'll tell you though, the most exhilarating part of riding the 749 is when you reach the power band and the gauge cluster starts to light up until the optimum time to shift then BAM! off like a rocket you go!!! (as seen on the right side of the image below):

The only thing that we really dislike about it is that in any sort of traffic it gets REALLY hot, to the point where we've had to pull over and shut it down to let it cool before moving on. However in the cool season, it does a great job keeping your backside warm!!!!
Oh one more thing, the lack of an actual numeric temperature reading took some time to get used to. 4-5 bars should be about the warmed up and ready to ride temp.
huh huh...cool. Can't wait to check that out.
It runs pretty hot even though liquid cooled? Hmmm, good to know.

Yeah, it's hot year round. Once you get within 3 temperature bars from the max, you'll know what I'm talking about!!!!
Does the bike run hot, or does it just throw off a lot of heat to the rider?
My 848 temp. gauge seems to register 215-220 max on hot days in traffic, which isn't all that bad. Yet it FEELS really hot because the fans push all that hot air out onto your legs, and the underseat exhaust heats up the seat a bit. My air cooled bike feels MUCH cooler on a hot day.
Nice job on the 675 Chchadder! [thumbsup] Those are cool bikes...I almost got one instead of the 848. I shared a GP garage at a Miller trackday last year with a guy that had a gold one...2008 I believe. It was a sweet bike. The only problem he was having was it puked a little bit of oil out of the oil breather from all of the high rev. riding. Hopefully they fixed that, but not a huge deal if they didn't. It didn't seem to affect anything really, and my buddy's 916 does the same thing. He just wiped it up after every track session.
It's got a built in lap timer too... Max and average speed, distance, etc... Cool.
Cool looking bike.
Go easy with it 'til you get used to all that power. Dolph :)
Thanks Dolph, I definitely will. Much throttle control will be used. [moto]
Congrats dude.
Welcome to the club. ;)

Nice, I like the 675s but I just couldn't allow myself to finance a bike. I like to save up until I can pay cashola.
Looks like more fun than a barrel of monkeys.... [thumbsup].
I used to have a couple of old Bonnevilles. Then I got a chance to get a 955 Daytona. I was a little leery of NEW Triumph reliability and parts availability, but the thing went 60,000 miles with no issues. Just a dime sized oil leak wherever I parked it, kind of like the old Bonnevilles. It was a pregnant dogin' bike, I bet those 675's are just the same. Have fun.
We've never had any problems mechanical or otherwise with ours (gladly no oil leak).
I hate when men say the word "meh"
Great bike ! Only raceish one I would get next to an 848...
Love the sound of the tripper leeching through the air box...

Yeah, the 848 went just a little far into the stratosphere as far as price and insurance. 675 is only $47 more expensive per year than my 695.
