I heard someone rave about this place so I gave it a shot and I gotta say [puke]. The philly cheese steak sandwich at Chili's is Waaaaayyyyy better, the steak is tastier, the mushrooms and bell peppers and onions, delicious. I like mine with a side of thousand Island dressing for the fries and I dip the sandwich in there.
chillis?, bro c'mon [roll]

Well in SoCal it's the best I've had
The best one Ive ever had was at the Dave & Busters in west Chicago. Every time I go thats all I gets and its always great.
first off, if you're getting it outside of this area you're taking your chances
secondly

Jim's Steaks is better...
truer words have never been spoken
though tony luke's is dam good too.
+1
if you're getting your philly cheese steak outside of philly....
...it's just a cheese steak [roll]
If you want a good cheese steak, don't go to Philly. No civilized human being put cheez-whiz on a cheese steak. South Jersey has much better cheese steaks, especially in the AC area. It's the AC rolls and the provolone cheese.
Hoagie Haven in downtown Princeton makes the best Ive ever had. I wear their t shirt proudly!
Philly Steaks on Tidewater drive in Norfolk VA.
So good it'll make you [bow_down]

I've had some pretty tasty 'real cheese' steak sammiches, but if I were in philly, i'd try one w/cheez-wiz....
I mean c'mon... why not? I like food. :)

Its actually "food product". Just like Twinkies and Slim Jims.....a drop from beaker X, a drop from beaker Y and POOF, theres your "food" complete with wrapper.
Id prolly try one too, Ive been known to eat some nasty sheit!
I was up at ECS the other day and i had a banging cheese steak.
it was make the beast with two backsin hefty too. Jalapenos, about 5 slices of american cheese, juicy steak slices (though to me a true steak sandwhich would have a rib eye in it) and onions and peppers!!
oh the tastyness

Yeah, but if you're in Chicago why would you get a cheese steak when you can get an Italian Beef sandwich?
God, I love those things.

as far as the whiz goes...there's a reason jims is the best.
pats and genos are tourist attractions.
Yeah, Jim's is where the locals go. A girl I used to date was from there. When we went there to visit her family, we ate there. I had never heard of putting spray cheese on a sandwich, but it was DAMN GOOD!

mmm. Portillo's
and the 'whiz is great on cheese steaks. we have a place in milwaukee called Chubbies, they're pretty damn good. i get steak, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, mozzarella, and cheese whiz.
You guys have inspired me to make the drive to Mr. B's today! They don't have Phillies but they do have an amazing hot neba roast beef sammich.
Hot slab of beef right on the slicer. Warm shaved goodnes directly deposited on a griddle toasted bun. With or without the cheese sauce. (with! ;))
There's a place in eastern Mass that makes 'em this way too. Wish I could remember the name! In the restaurant hey have pics of people holding up their bumper sticker in all corners of the globe including Antarctica. Even one one the space shuttle. Best hot rb I've ever had in my entire life!

mmm. Portillo's
first stop when I get off the plane BEFORE I even get to my grandmothers house...
I can thow down am italian beef with hot peppers and a vienna beef dog with everything just for a snack!
Chicago Italian beef > Philli cheese steak
Italian roast pork w/ broccoli rabe > cheesteak.
It's not just the cheese that makes philly cheesteaks legendary. It's the roll that's soft in the middle and has some chew.
Goomba's on route 309 (just below Hilltown). The rolls have sesame seeds all the way around. He uses REAL Sharp Provolone. Makes their own homemade sopresetta. roasted long hot peppers. hoagies can be put in the oven (we call them grinders - and boy do they bring out the flavor of the italin meats & cheeses). pardon the saliva drool....
they offer sandwiches like:
da godfather : sopprasotta, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers & artichoke hearts
9th streeter: Fried eggplant, Sopprasotta, Fresh mozzarella & roasted peppers
chicken alla sinatra : sauteed chicken with pesto, sundried tomatoes, imported ham & four cheeses
chicken supra : sauteed chicken, proscuitto, aged provolone, balsamic vinegar, lettuce, tomato, red onion & mayo
chicken alla donna : grilled chicken, pepperoni, aged provolone, sun dried tomato & roasted peppers
Damn! they're closed. Def for tomorrow night's dinner. They've got killer Spanish fries (peppers, onions cheese & seasonings). MMMMMM!!! I can feel my arteries clogging.

seriously, i have eaten some strange things. i can't deal with scrapple or sause. those are just too vile for me.
and i love chitlins.
I went to college in Philly for 4 years and spent my whole sophomore year trying different cheese steak places. Phil's is the damn BEST cheesesteak place known to man. But i will admit Tony Luke's has the best bread. But for a complete package nothing beats phil's, extra wiz with pls!
