Great to hear! [beer] I have another rider coming too. He has a sweet looking restored 888 Ducati. The weather will be nice too. [thumbsup]
Hope you check the board before you leave. I'm running slightly late. I'll be there by 8:15 at the latest.
Nice to see you guys again. Too bad there was that guy being anal at the bottom of GMR but ACH was cool. [thumbsup]
Likewise my friend. Good to ride with you again. I guess we'll have to do the ACH thing again since Azusa seems to be on lock-down. Maybe we can do Wrightwood too....very nice road. [thumbsup]
I'm game for that. [thumbsup]
So, what's GMR?
Thanks,
Norris
Glendora Mountain Road. It goes from about half way between the 605 and the 57 over to the 57 and is just above the 210. Well, that's Azusa and GMR. Technically the GMR part is just the strip over by the 210 and the 57.

Glendora Mountain Road----Google it. There are also tons of videos.
Here is a link I found. He describes it starting out from the front of GMR and coming out to Azusa/hwy39. We start out on Azusa and work our way to GMR...

Thanks Icon,
Maybe some morning I can join up on one of these rides if you don't mind my being the slow guy at the back.

Your more than welcome. Don't worry about the speed...it's all about being out and riding our bikes. Where abouts do you live...Texas? Would you be up for some ACH?

I was in Texas. Now I'm in Hollywood with a new wife. Unless there's a special occasion, Sunday mornings are for riding! I've not ridden ACH (or GMH) yet. I've tended to head out to the Rock Store on my rides (or just tooling around town).
Anything this weekend?

We are looking to ride ACH again this Saturday if your up for it. Azusa has some heat on it at the moment. I guess someone did a knuckle-head move recently.
Can you swing Saturday's?

I'll have to check with the
boss wife, but shouldn't be a problem if there's nothing already planned.
One reason I've avoided ACH is the "Ducati Monster Micro Gas Tank Syndrome". This and the fact that my S4RS gets crappy gas milage. After about 70 miles I need to fill up. Though I do have some small gas containers I carry in the tail bag.
So, how far between ARE the gas stations on an ACH ride?
Shortest distance: 60mi according to googlemaps. There might be something else but that's from a Shell to an Arco. I can't find anything other than the Arco on the Wrightwood side though and I've never made the trip so I don't know.

Huh... Never realized that it lets out just on the other side of the mountain from my parent's house.
Thanks for the link. Hey, even I can make that (if I top off first!).
Well I have an S4RS too and she has ran out of gas on me at 100mi at a good pace. I took her up to ACH this past Sat with no issues. I topped her off at the Shell at the bottom of the hill, went up to Newcombs Ranch, back down to the Shell.....DID NOT fuel up and made it back home with no gas light coming on.
Now, if we were going past Newcombs to Wrightwood, I would then gas up at Wrightwood. They have a little gas station there. Now that's a nice road to ride. [moto]

Everyone rides their own pace and they're good at stopping and waiting at any splits. :) I'm always the slow poke in the back. Last weekend I was pretty comfortable going the speed limit +5 (45+5 ~ 50mph) since it was my first time. I still get the fun of leaning the bike into some of the sharper turns but don't have to worry as much about lines since I'm horrible at finding the right line.
Well, I'll plan on this Saturday, will confirm soon.
Let me know the when and where for a meet-up.

Ok no worries. I'll post up a ride for ACH for this Saturday.
