Finally found the ultimate girly Ducati--1198s, Red of course.
It has been 4 weeks and 1,500 miles of thrills. Third ride was 600 mile round trip to Paso Robles, CA and I have never had a motorcycle this intutitive to ride, evah! Really delightful on mountain roads, she was born to "twist", and even though she requires fuel about every 110 miles, I just have to plan accordingly.
Even though I am small (5'3", about 120 lbs), I can touch the floor, and prefer one foot down anyway. So far, everything is stock save for my newly installed Termi slip ons.
This bike is a far cry from my 2001 M600, which I flogged mercilessly for 5 years, and some of you that I have ridden with know this to be oh so very true. It feels wonderful to get revenge with all that lovely torque. I still have my Monster and hope that one day my husband will have time and inclination to ride with me.
Here are some pics.

you're certainly on a beefier bike.

Thanks guys and gals. I was afraid you would run me off the board because I changed bikes. Whew.
Oh, and on the height question; I am 5'3", and I have long legs and arms. If you look closely at the third photo, I have a short torso. I have yet to fiddle with suspension set up as I don't know exactly what I want in performance or ride, so I thought I would ride stock settings until I have an opinion

True Story: Bad Dog wont ride with me at all. Oh, he calls...makes excuses, hems and haws around riding, he even makes ride dates he can't keep. Asks me questions about my new ride and says, "That's freeway miles, right?" Must have a burr in his leathers.
Congrats on your new ride! My boss just got a new bike recently (his 2nd) so I am in big time envy mode.

Oh my, I felt like that for 5 years. I would ride with my Ducati Buddies and would have to literally wring out my little M600 just to keep contact. Frankly, it is all the sweeter when you have to wait some. When the day finally arrives, we all appreciate your happiness and fatigue smile muscle syndrome. [moto]
That's one hell of an upgrade! Congratulations!! [bacon] [thumbsup]
You are truly blessed to have unusually long legs for your height. I'm about the same height and weight and the complete opposite - stubby legs and a loooong torso. All that does is make for lots of tippy toe and a sore lower back :'(

Ah, DesmoLu--don't cry :-\ Listen, after some Yoga with some Pilates, we could stretch you out and make you some long luxurious legs. On the other hand, buy a big bike and lower the darn thing! We are both taller than Pedrosa and out weight him (we could kick his ass). [moto]

argh, i know! isn't that so incredibly disturbing?
this girl will keep dreaming for a while. all the yoga stretches and lowering kits in the world won't give me a spare $20K - sigh!!
enjoy your awesome new toy! you've earned it after all those years red-lining your M600!!
wtf? that is some upgrade you got there.. good to know that someoene that is short like me can fit on that bike.
though it is funny that when you look at the stats of all the motogp riders they are all around or under 5'7" except for rossi basically... go figure right?
have fun, nice bike.
Very nice! Did you just get the slipons, or did you go for the whole system with the ECU? [moto]

MendoDave, yes I purchased Termi Slip-On's instead of the full system as I was afraid to melt my fairings. I do believe that I will have to ceramic coat the rest of my exhaust to disipate more heat. Maybe black would look nice??? ;D
Opps, and yes my ECU had to be changed to accomadate the Slip-On's.

MendoDave, good eye for detail. What would be the chances of getting a near match of color with my wheels??? [moto]
Love your bike!! Congrats!!
They had to change your ecu for slipons? :-\ I am running full 72mm Arrows with a PCIII on mine without an ecu change.
Yeah, these damn bikes roast your nuts (well, figure of speech doesnt apply well here...LOL). I got the DP heat pad under my seat and that helps a ton.

Ahhhh....
It's slightly different here than the TOB.
General is for
all moto related stuff. Not just monsters.
This place is for everything
not moto related.
It's fine in here if you like, but there are members that don't venture in here.

Wow, thanks Dave. I will check into this ASAP. I should think about a heat deflecting carbon bit near my boot as well.
True story: After a longish day on the bike I walked in the door and said, "Wow, my ass is hot!" My husband looked at me and through a wicked grin said, "Yeah, I know." And that is all you people need to know.

I totally agree on the wait. Once I finally save up enough for a new bike, all the waiting and anticipation will make it all that much more special. Perhaps I will have a Superbike in my garage one day (848).
Contrats again on your new ride!

Oh no...my post didn't make it.
Tony, one day you will have your 848 or whatever the new bike is in production. Just make sure you don't try one out--it ruins you.

If you need a carbon heat shield, PM El Matador. He's in the process of making one for the new S2R1K as we speak. He left boot gunk all over the midpipe.

Should be complete by late 2012.
