I did individual parts, one round each, to get them nicely through the tight openings - and only on the upper fork parts.
It hasn't come loose yet, but it will.... I'll figure out what to do then.

StopInTime, I thought you put Brembo Goldlines on your bike from a S2R1000. Am I right or am I confused?

Congrats!! Inspiration for my own 07 S2R800!
I do have a question, your throttle cam(?) what's the story with that? Billet? 75% turn? Looks trick! My goal, my quest, is to replace as much of the grey/black plastic as I can.

Electraeon Fast Throttle Cam. Yes to all of the above. Show me yours and I'll tell you if it will fit.... [thumbsup]

[laugh] Yes, and you're the one who brought the DML/DMF to my attention, which has cost me about $10k. It has also doubled the value of ownership, so I guess I should thank you anyhow [thumbsup]
Very nice! [thumbsup]

I like the look but I'm not sure about the 75% turn part? How does that affect the drivability on the street? Sounds like it would make it more twitchy? I notice you also have the 14t front sprocket, do they sort of cancel each other out? ;)

Twitchy? I see it as more responsive [moto] True enough, I need to be more aware of what my right hand is doing.
With the limited power of the 800, full throttle is a frequent exercise. When applying full throttle I found that I had to change the grip (raised elbow) before application to avoid an over-rotated wrist (at full throttle). That is not an issue anymore.
My grip/bar input is more relaxed and correct as a result. My arm and wrist doesn't move around as much. I like that.
If you're interested and can afford it - get one and try it?

Electraeon's site is a little wonky on my computer. (I can't read it easily because of the font used). Can you tell me what version of the cam you have on your S2R? Type 1 or Type 2?

I got the Type 2
Does this work?
The Electraeon Fast Throttle Cam for Ducati motorcycles allows the throttle to reach full open with 75% rotation of the hand grip compared to the stock throttle cam. Reducing the amount of hand grip rotation provides greater control and comfort by allowing the throttle to reach the full open position quicker and reducing stress on the wrist when riding at full throttle. The cam operates in a linear fashion, 25% turn at the grip equals 25% of throttle opening, 75% turn at the grip equals 75% of throttle opening.
The Fast Throttle Cam is precision machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet and anodized.
The Electraeon Fast Throttle Cam Type 1 replaces all stock Ducati throttle cams like the one pictured below on the left (916,996,748, older Monsters and ST2/ST4). The Cam Type 2 replaces stock Ducati cams like the one on the right (late model Monsters). Notice the rotation of the throttle body linkage bolt hole. Please inspect your motorcycle to insure proper fitment. The Fast Throttle Cam DOES NOT fit 998,999,749 models.
Thanks so much, stopintime. Yes, this I can read without any problems. Must be my work computer trying to keep me from straying from my work. ;D
I've seen a few throttle cams on Monster ('06 S2R 800 is one of them, I think) which are made of/covered by plastic and it appears that those aren't bolted on like they probably would have to be, to allow for the Electraeon Cam.
(Just a warning)
Thanks. The plastic cam on my S2R1000 looks very close to the Electraeon Cam. I'll double-check when I ride home tonight. Great, I'm about to spend more money. Thanks, stopintime. >:(
jk. ;D
On the first page of Official Bikes I see Juan's 1000 and Mr Exact(Nakid's) '06 S2R 1000. Both have the plastic cams which might be bolted on the "wrong" way. I don't know, but they look different.

A little hard to tell in those pictures. Unfortunately, I just bought the billet cam online, so it better work. ;D
Though if it doesn't, I'm sure someone here will be interested in purchasing it at a discount.
