Looks like a prequil is in the works (since the interceptor was completely destroyed in the last movie)...pretty far along to if the cars are already built.

Casting is still up in the air, but the movie's being backed by Warner Brothers on a 100 million dollar budget!
Keep your hopes up, but this could be good! [thumbsup]
That's it!? Argh! I want more!
Does it have Shia LaBeouf in it? [popcorn]

LOL, no, the only unconfirmed rumor that I heard has been that offers were made to Sam Wirthington and Charlize Theron. We'll see what happens.
Interesting moto-tid-bit:
In the first Mad-Max movie (I believe it was the first one....) when Max is hauling ass down the highway and then pulled the lever (or pushed the button I forget) to start up the supercharger....
Actually, the technology to start up a supercharger like that WHILE the engine was running didn't exist at the time they shot the movie. They showed the footage of the supercharger pulley beginning to turn as they started the engine up from a dead stop.
[/tid-bit]
As far as this movie goes: It'll either kick-ass or suck. There will be no more 'Meh'. Hollywood will assure of that.

I'm dubious, but I'll go see it if/when it arrives.
I was pretty skeptical about the newest Star Trek, given the past few, but they managed to make it work.
Also in sequels news (though it may have been mentioned on the forum already, not sure): Rambo 5 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1206885/).

I'm up for it with the hope that it will be a more effective feature worthy of the Rambo title rather than just a slaughter.
Speaking of movies, check out the long trailer for The Expendables (the best part is about 2:17sec - Ivan Drago vs Jet Li)

Is Mel Gibson involved in Mad Max 4?
Since it's most likely a prequel, you can expect that he's out.
Was that a Desmo in the Expendables clip?
I would still really, really, really like to have a supercharger with an on/off switch.
Electromagnetic A/C compressor clutch maybe?

Mad Max wasn't mad till they killed his family and he didn't get the black Interceptor until the end of that movie so how can it be a prequel? Unless it's just going to fill in between Mad Max and Road Warrior and show his move from suburbia to the wastelands?
Wonder if we'll see a bunch of old Kawi and Zook 750's? (and 1000's)

I'm only assuming that it's a prequel because the interceptor was totally destroyed in the 2nd movie.
On a side note, I collect 1:18 scale diecast Hollywood move/TV cars, and look a what my sweetie bought me to add to the collection:

I'd take a picture but that would mean taking them all out of thier air tight display cases and that's just a lot of work!!!
Nice list there! [thumbsup]
You'd love my "museum" room, adjacent to my bar area. I've got to be pushing 100 1:18 cars, all Fords and Ferraris. I hope I don't have to move again...
Have a street XB - must have Mad Max Falcon!!!
to clarify
Mad Max was the first movie, Max is a cop, and looses his family
The Road Warrior...picks up as Max is a loner in the Outback wasteland
ThunderDome...i am not even going to comment on this one.
There is also a supposed documentary being made about the making of The Road Warrior called 'The Madness of Max'.
The Falcon Max gets, 'last of the great V8s!' in Mad Max, isn't outfitted with the big petrol tanks on the back and lacks a few other 'road warrior' details that the car picks up in 'The Road Warrior'.
So i am guessing this film will either be a true Road Warrior 4 (ThunderDome sequal) where Max finds another falcon. Or this film will fill in (as suggested above) the gap of after the first movie 'Mad Max' and 'The Road Warrior'. Either way Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in 20 years... so this is fitting.
But for more Falcon goodness check out the flick 'Love the Beast' (http://www.lovethebeast.com.au/)...documentary about Eric Bana and his relationship with his falcon.

100!!! That's awesome! We've been talking and I really need a "prime display location" for my cars. I decided that I really wanted to keep it to TV/Movie cars as those were always my favorite. Currently I've got them each in individual air tight display cases and am really having a hard time finding the cases anymore. I'd love to have a nice glass cabinet to put them in with some lighting to light them up. I'd love to have a "museum room" for mine - I think that I'd call it the "Star Cars Room"!!!
[thumbsup]
The street XB is one that I haven't come across yet, but I'll tell you that I did come across a kit for the 1:18 Interceptor that I'm getting that converts it to the car in the first movie. See pics below:
Movie 1:

Movie 2:

The kit is available through wwww.monstersinmotion.com but it's not cheap - $100
Talk about a unique car to have in your collection though (as if the Interceptor isn't unique enough already)!!
Oh wait! Check this out, it's WAY more than I could afford but here's a custom 1:18th weathered version that Monsterinmotion has:
Note that the website says that each piece is screen accurate and made to order - that's awesome!
...I'm going to have to start a Diecast collectors thread.

BTW, I got my 1:18 street XB off eBay a number of years ago, from an Australian source.
I know - that one's off the list for me due to $$$
I'd love to find a 1:18 of the Big Bopper interceptor.

Did you see the diecast thread that I started?
Funny they don't make the 4-door interceptor - a lot of the tooling would be the same.
No....I don't recall the diecast thread. I would think I would have participated....
