On a side note, I collect 1:18 scale diecast Hollywood move/TV cars, and look a what my sweetie bought me to add to the collection:

Where, oh where, can a fellow collector get one of these?  :)

And I hope this Hollywood rehash of an iconic franchise doesn't suck....

If you google Mad Max 1:18 diecast you'll find retailers with it to if you have a preference over buying through an ebay store.  [thumbsup]

That makes car number 27 of my 1:18th collection!

I've got:

The Batmobile (Adam West)
The Batmobile (Keaton)
The Tumbler
The General Lee
The General Lee Dirt Road Edition
Ecto-1
The A-Team Van (Custom made by yours truley)
The A-Team Corvette (Custom made by yours truley)
Herbie Junk Yard Edition
Fast and the Furious Charger
Fast and the Furious Eclipse
Fast and the Furious RX-7
Fast and the Furious Supra
KITT
KITT Chase Edition
KARR
Gone in 60 Seconds GT500
Mach 5
James Bond Aston Martin Vanquish
James Bond Jaguar
BTTF Delorean
BTTF 2 Delorean
BTTF 3 50's era Delorean
BTTF 3 Railroad Delorean
Smokey and the Bandit Trans-Am
Starsky and Hutch Torino
Mad Max Interceptor!

I'd take a picture but that would mean taking them all out of thier air tight display cases and that's just a lot of work!!!

Nice list there!  [thumbsup]

You'd love my "museum" room, adjacent to my bar area. I've got to be pushing 100 1:18 cars, all Fords and Ferraris. I hope I don't have to move again...

Have a street XB - must have Mad Max Falcon!!!

RB

to clarify
Mad Max was the first movie, Max is a cop, and looses his family
The Road Warrior...picks up as Max is a loner in the Outback wasteland
ThunderDome...i am not even going to comment on this one.

There is also a supposed documentary being made about the making of The Road Warrior called 'The Madness of Max'.

The Falcon Max gets, 'last of the great V8s!' in Mad Max, isn't outfitted with the big petrol tanks on the back and lacks a few other 'road warrior' details that the car picks up in 'The Road Warrior'.

So i am guessing this film will either be a true Road Warrior 4 (ThunderDome sequal) where Max finds another falcon. Or this film will fill in (as suggested above) the gap of after the first movie 'Mad Max' and 'The Road Warrior'. Either way Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in 20 years... so this is fitting.

But for more Falcon goodness check out the flick 'Love the Beast'...documentary about Eric Bana and his relationship with his falcon.

100!!! That's awesome! We've been talking and I really need a "prime display location" for my cars. I decided that I really wanted to keep it to TV/Movie cars as those were always my favorite. Currently I've got them each in individual air tight display cases and am really having a hard time finding the cases anymore. I'd love to have a nice glass cabinet to put them in with some lighting to light them up. I'd love to have a "museum room" for mine - I think that I'd call it the "Star Cars Room"!!!

[thumbsup]

The street XB is one that I haven't come across yet, but I'll tell you that I did  come across a kit for the 1:18 Interceptor that I'm getting that converts it to the car in the first movie. See pics below:

Movie 1:

Movie 2:

The kit is available through wwww.monstersinmotion.com but it's not cheap - $100

Talk about a unique car to have in your collection though (as if the Interceptor isn't unique enough already)!!

Oh wait! Check this out, it's WAY more than I could afford but here's a custom 1:18th weathered version that Monsterinmotion has:

Note that the website says that each piece is screen accurate and made to order - that's awesome!

...I'm going to have to start a Diecast collectors thread.

Mad Max wasn't mad till they killed his family and he didn't get the black Interceptor until the end of that movie so how can it be a prequel?  Unless it's just going to fill in between Mad Max and Road Warrior and show his move from suburbia to the wastelands?

Wonder if we'll see a bunch of old Kawi and Zook 750's? (and 1000's)

that's exactly what i was thinking..  how a prequel?..  didn't finish reading the thread after your post before my post..   i remember seeing a special on tv about there making a 4th mad max but budget or something stopped it.. i think they even started it and just didn't finish it..   i am a big fan of the mad max movies...  i wish they could have made 8 of them.. -sigh-
