BMW Will Manufacture Inline Six-Cylinder Tourer: Previewed by the Concept 6. The concept bike looks like a sport bike, but the tourer the six goes into will be intended to knock off the Goldwing as the luxury touring champ.

well, it's not like the rt is a slouch.
i'm not sure how much of a "tourer" this is gonna be given the ergonomics and lack of obvious mount points for hard luggage.
it also appears to be a solo "tourer."
^^ Better pics, but. :D

beefed-up subframe/seats with decent pillion space, maybe?
That is beautiful. Wow....

Sure is! I would be interested to see how they could possibly pull off mounting the engine in line with the wheels, a la MotoCzyzz's design.

I think the concept bike is just to show off the engine (which is gorgeous). I really want to hear it run. If it sounds anything like the old Honda CBX's it'll sound really cool.
Tasty [thumbsup]

But BMW already has a bike that's Goldwingesque... ;)
That thing looks like a
touring missile. Like when people tour on 'Busa's (does that really happen?) or maybe ZX-14s instead of a Contour 14.

HyperSport Touring?
screw building a tourer. I want THAT bike.
Here's some pics of the engine from AutoBlog.

You caught me posting a couple of Derbies recently :-[. However, I'm not counting this one a Derby though. Your thread didn't mention BMW or 6-Cylinder. ;)
Ha....those pipes double as foot warmers 8) The LT is the Beemer equivalent of the Goldwing. The LT is much more refined IMO, but damn they are heavy......900 lbs might as well be 9000 on two wheels.
This bike looks sick and looks like it will replace the K1300 S if it stays true to concept form.
I like the foamcore printed placeholder for the peg/rear brake. ;D

I know, right? :D I'd have thought they would have a rapid prototype machine for that sort of thing

Damn...I got a S 1000 RR coming and now I see this thing of dreams !
Motorcycles will be my down fall.
Gives me a reason to hang around a while longer than expected.
Sure hope it gets built like in the 1st photo.
Dolph :)
