Post by: Speeddog on February 26, 2010, 06:39:17 AM
When that briefcase full of benjamins falls from the sky, I'm buyin' one of these.

if I had a garage, I wouldn't kick the silver one out of it

The front end is nice and clean, but that rear end isn't for me.  Looks like they welded on the trunk of an old Acura TL.

I'd still take one, but not my personal fave.

I'll take me a Supersports please  ;D

yeah i guess that would be a good "weekend car" to go with my daily commuter the ferrari Italia 2010.

i'll get both of those after i win the 348  million dollar powerball with the only winning ticket, or when that steamer trunk full of benjamins falls in my back yard out of the sky (hopefully i won't be under the steamer trunk when it falls). [laugh] [laugh]

It's a cool car, but it definitely looks better with the doors up.  It looks very Z8ish to me.

I like me some Z8.

IMO the Mercedes looks the best from the front, but the back isn't quite as pretty.

I agree. Great looking car. For tradition sake, I'd have to go silver. I'm not to crazy about the shape of the doors, and how they look when closed, but I could get past that.

Here's what's hiding under that long snout:

and here's a link to a high-rez wallpaper - looks awesome:

It does look good, but is it going to be like every other Mercedes and weigh 3 times more than it should?

I had high hopes that the new Merc would be a helluva lot more sexy.  :-\

From what I've read, however, the performance is phenomenal.

Nothin at all wrong with that Alfa, I like those a lot.  [thumbsup]

Best thing is it doesn't take a briefcase full of cash to buy one.

Yeah.  :P

About 5 years ago, I had serious wood for one of those Alfas.
Trouble was, I was commuting about 150 miles a day, didn't seem a good idea to get a 30 year old italian car and pile the miles on it.

I'd rather have the original.

I've sat in one of the originals.

The owner was smarter than to let me start it up "to hear how it sounds" as I claimed.

They would've never caught me alive  [evil]

a guy in town has one. All blacked out... Looks like it was lowered or rims upgraded.  Sounds so mean.  The only thing I don't like about the car is the rearend.  I'd take one though if it plopped in my garage.

I never cared for that style campangolo wheel tho.

Panasports look real nice on them...

It's nice to see (IMO) a newer 'power' car that doesn't look like a door-stop or some other amalgamation of bits from other current 'power' cars.

It's nicely done IMO...

But, if it were a suitcase full of $$$...I'd buy a tropical island and open up a scooter rental.  [cheeky]

I am surprised no-one posted the mini site for the sls:

http://www.sls-amg-special.com/com/en (http://www.sls-amg-special.com/com/en)

it is pretty well done, flash heavy, good connection required.

You have to at least watch the intro video  - is it cgi?

I like it too - hard to design something to stand out (well) today, and this does IMO.

the campagnolos look more OEM to me.. i love the panasports too, but they are more aftermarket.  if you are doign an original resto, use the campagnolos

The dealership is about 400 feet from where I live and I am forced to drive by it like 6 times a day. I occasionally stop in on Sunday's when they are closed to check out the 4 or 5 beauties they have on the lot.

I agree on how mean they sound. They are buzzing around here all the time. make the beast with two backsing love it.

And....

I did almost sideswipe one while lane splitting in CA with the the Bay Group Hooligans just before the Golden Gate Bridge. I think I stopped paying attention as I passed by it.

eh... the campy's scream Alfetta to me.  I prefer the "phone dial" gta rims or daytons, and they still look OEM.

As for drool worthy old alfas, give me a GTAm (with the fender flares), drop in a new t-spark, red of course and throw a serpent badge on the hood...  gtv on steroids!

I'd rather have the SL65 AMG Black Series..  Twin's on a V12 for some reason really speak to my soul.
