SS/L employs college students through our College Intern Program. While students usually work during the summer months, they may work throughout the year. The objective of the College Intern Program is to enhance our future recruiting position for college graduates, providing the company with fresh ideas and perspectives, and providing valuable work experience for the students.
For consistency, we need to observe the following ground rules in selecting college intern hires:
At a minimum, candidates must have completed one full year of college and be entering their sophomore year.
Candidates must be majoring in a discipline from which SS/L normally recruits, i.e., engineering, finance, business administration, or computer science. The area of a student's study must be directly related to the needs of the organization in which the summer hire employee will work.
Candidates must be attending an accredited school within the United States.
Candidates must meet all normal employment requirements, including U.S. Person documentation.
Students meeting the above criteria will be employed, as an SS/L temporary employee (not as a temporary agency employee), for a maximum of 120 days between May and September. At the end of the assignment, the summer hire employee will be terminated as a "Release Upon Completion of a Temporary Assignment."

Email me if you know anyone qualified.
AFAIK, corporate housing is provided in Palo Alto. Not a bad gig.
um
correct me if i'm wrong
but
does not the word "Intern" usually mean
employment without pay
Not necessarily. We pay our interns as well...and I was paid as an intern back in the day.
I have just been informed I am rawng
My internship that I get to look forward to sometime in the next little while is 3-4 months long and I get to pay them for the opportunity to work for no pay
I hope all you white collar types get burs in your socks!!!

No, just means employment where the focus is learning the job more so than working for money, though sometimes those positions do not pay I'd think most do.
It also means imprison [laugh]
Is there a drug test involved?
(internships go either way on pay. I was paid for 2 and not paid for one.......which if I did get paid for that one, I'd probably have donated the money because I didn't do shit)
I interned at a hospital once, I didnt get paid, but they did give you free lunch atleast. :P WILL WORK FOR FOOD.
What do the Interns do?

These salaries listed are considered pretty low around here.

Did you lose your sense of humor???
come on now.
I'd pass with a doctor's note due to my surgery issues as some of my medication would draw a flag.

Define technical. I'm a structural engineering major master's student. All I have left is my project but technically since I haven't graduated I'm still a student. ;D
is there a "RATE ME" skirt or boob test that unnofficially goes along with the hiring?!?!?!
They didn't define it so I won't either. I would just give it a shot.
I'll be happy to rate any of the potential hotties interns.

I wish I was in college still
and
I don't live in Palo Alto.
But I do start college (somewhat) again in August, but I won't be leaving my current job for an internship

Our college interns get paid $12 per hour and get to go full time during the summer months. Cant find any that qualify though. Must be in a construction management or engineering program. Must be able to work 3 days a week during the school year.

Wow, 3 days a week during the school year?
Like a full 8hr day or kind of when you are done with class?
That would be really hard to do if you are carrying a full course load.
I could only imagine working days 3 days a week while carrying 18 credit hours.

Wimp. ;D
I worked 32 hours/week almost all thru school. 40 during summer.
It would be tough though if you were looking at having to fit it in during normal working hours. I worked 3-11 pm. ;)

I worked about 30 with my 18hr course load. Most of the time I got half of the time done on the weekends and was able to work at whatever time I wanted.
I never understood people who worked internships for free. Always seemed like a scam to me.
How many hours of work must be put into each hour of class room instruction?

Yeah, he's doing his pre-reqs now. It may get interesting when he's trying to work full time and do the internship at the same time. He might lose what little is left of his sanity.

Trying to think if you are being serious or not, but will answer.
That is a very very interesting question.
I carried 18hr a week course load for 3 semesters out of 8 (my university was 2 semesters a year, by 4.......so 8 total)
I also took summer school to meet the demands of the amount of credits to graduate.
It really depends on the class. I had my business classes and then required bullshit liberal arts classes.
Obviously the liberal arts classes involved less work then the 3 hours a week I sat listening to a moron babel about stupid shit.
A three hour a week Financial Management class, depending on the week, could end up costing me 10-15 hours of outside of class work depending on the project, assignment, presentation, etc.
Thank God I got my father's intelligence, but I didn't get his worth ethic and more importantly his science understanding.
If so, I'd most likely be a make the beast with two backsing doctor if any one of you could believe that.

A thru C match up with the three listed.
D's and up just get a marriage proposal, which pays more.
