SS/L employs college students through our College Intern Program. While students usually work during the summer months, they may work throughout the year. The objective of the College Intern Program is to enhance our future recruiting position for college graduates, providing the company with fresh ideas and perspectives, and providing valuable work experience for the students.

For consistency, we need to observe the following ground rules in selecting college intern hires:

At a minimum, candidates must have completed one full year of college and be entering their sophomore year.

Candidates must be majoring in a discipline from which SS/L normally recruits, i.e., engineering, finance, business administration, or computer science. The area of a student's study must be directly related to the needs of the organization in which the summer hire employee will work.

Candidates must be attending an accredited school within the United States.

Candidates must meet all normal employment requirements, including U.S. Person documentation.

Students meeting the above criteria will be employed, as an SS/L temporary employee (not as a temporary agency employee), for a maximum of 120 days between May and September. At the end of the assignment, the summer hire employee will be terminated as a "Release Upon Completion of a Temporary Assignment."

AFAIK, corporate housing is provided in Palo Alto. Not a bad gig.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

No, just means employment where the focus is learning the job more so than working for money, though sometimes those positions do not pay I'd think most do.

It also means imprison   [laugh]

Is there a drug test involved?

(internships go either way on pay. I was paid for 2 and not paid for one.......which if I did get paid for that one, I'd probably have donated the money because I didn't do shit)

These salaries listed are considered pretty low around here.

come on now.

I'd pass with a doctor's note due to my surgery issues as some of my medication would draw a flag.

I wish I was in college still

and

I don't live in Palo Alto.

But I do start college (somewhat) again in August, but I won't be leaving my current job for an internship
