So I made some more room in what is currently being used as a storage/work room and brought inside some of the stuff for construction of the kitchen we're making.
I'm starting out with the dishroom, which is the former laundry room, a 6x6 room just off the one side of the kitchen. I made a 3x6 closet elsewhere to have the washer and dryer in and am repurposing that room just for the cleaning and storage of dishes.
Here's the some of the stuff, I didn't bring the really big counter and pot rack for the kitchen inside yet.
Here's the little prep sink that will be in the corner of the kitchen.

The cabinet that will be in the dishroom.

Certainly better than wallpaper.

The sink/drain board table going into the dishroom.

Trying to show the sprayer but it's hard to get a decent pic when you have to hold it in place. [cheeky]

Now to begin demo of the former laundry room.

We'll see, I've already built this a hundred times in my head.
The main thing is I'm keeping it simple, just build a box and put this stuff into it.
As usual I'm sure I'll encounter some surprises when I tear the walls open.
Mmmm... pretty.
I like those sproingy faucet things, handy.
Eagerly following the kitchen build.
That sounds like it will be a great kitchen... I'm taking notes.

At my pace however we may find that even stainless rusts if you wait long enough.

I don't know what it is, just that it was expensive, it's shiny and it's what she wanted.

Nah, I like the idea totally.
There is a very good reason why I didn't post pics of what the kitchen looks like now. It sorely needs to get done and if I'm going to do it and it can look badass then no tricks needed to get me onboard with that.

Even if it is aluminum, it's probably way heavier than it should be.
Weight in a house is ok, weight on a vehicle is evil.
That's all gonna fit in a 6x6 room and still have room to use it?

yup. That sink drain table thing along the wall to the left of where you walk in and the dishwasher straight ahead. That cabinet goes up on the wall above the dishwasher and some shelving and pot hooks fill in reamining wall space.
The small sink is going on the far end of the kitchen and the monsterous table that is still in a box out in the garage runs from the stove to the little sink.
I've got layout all worked out, the stuff that is still flexible is outlet locations and exactly how many different circuits I feel like having.
Ahh, I guess the problem was with me picturing an industrial dishwasher.
The stuff you bought had me thinking of kitchens at places I've worked.

do you know how expensive those are? :o
It was a thought for a half second
No, we just have a normal size but really nice one.

Yeah, they're retardedly expensive.
If you find a restaurant that's going out of business you can get a good deal sometimes though.
i have a stove that would fit right into your theme.........but not your available space.

Is that yours? ^^

I could fit that, the 6x6 is only the dishroom.
The kitchen itself is roughly 22x10.
The main budget has been depleted though, no more big stuff for now.

check back with me if you find room in the budget. i only need 6 burners and 1 oven, so this beast has to find a new home.
I have a 6 burner that probly won't make it into the new house.

just sayin' ;D
Certainly keeping both of those in mind.
We currently have a Bosch electric oven that we got about 2 years ago and no matter what that would remain as well since electric is preferable for baking.
We intended on maybe adding a gas cooktop in but having a second oven would certainly get use.
:o
That South Bend has more burners than an Olive Garden, should have got a flat top on one side

The cooktops are so expensive it's almost cheaper to get an oven. Our oven is gas top electric convection ;D

I know, we got what we got because it made the most sense at the time not knowing how and when this would proceed.
Holidays are usually at our place (this year probably not as I have doubts that I'll have it ready enough) so the more cook space the better.
That big stove is impressive!!!

Electric is way better for oven cooking. thats one reason why the commercial stove needs to go.

Yes it is.
I've had it for years.
It has a few drawbacks though.
It has no broiler. I realize we're all rugged north folk, but in the middle of winter it sucks to have pan fried steak because you were too lazy to move the grill into the barn...and...
the new house will be airtight and combustion appliances need to be supplied air.
I'm thinking a newer model designed around supplied air will save me a make the beast with two backs ton of work. ;)
Put the old stove in the barn if you can't use it in the house. Top broiling ruins steaks. Sear in pan, finish in oven.

won't the airtight house have an air exchanger? and would that not provide enough air for a gas stove?
i know airtight houses need the air exchanger, but no clue about the combustion appliances.
