Its going to be awhile before getting another monster, so in the meantime Ive been looking around on something to tool around/play on. I think Ive found it....
A RD 250/350, provided that I can find a parts source, and the right one for the right price.

saw that one, its still a couple months out for me. A nice one in La was only 1300.
Need to do a bit more research, but a mid 70s 2 stroke is looking like a lot of fun
I knew a guy who used to drag race one back in the late '80s. He did very well with it.
Could be fun to find one cheap though, as they are relatively highly sought after.
I personally want/need a motard ratbike to ride to work rain or shine. Gas prices be damned.
This looks like it'd have potential.

Certainly wouldn't mind running across one of these.

lol -- odd.. there is an r5 350 for sale in atlanta that i'm looking at really hard.
two stroke streetbikes are fun. my dad has a 76 gt750 that is a blast.
but the yama's look nice -- 330lbs stock. i'm thinking it'd be my goal to get it sub 300.
sub 250 if i get really stupid.
My neighbor has an RD400 rotting in his garage.....wont come off it.....
My longterm project is a tz250 u aluminium frame track bike, in pieces at the moment [bang]
There's been an RD350 in the local paper for months for $450. It needs a considerable amount of restoration though. I looked at it and decided it wasn't my project. At least until I get a bigger garage (Taurus, Dakota, M750, TS185, to bicycles in a small 2-bay) according to my fiancée [laugh]
