I bet the board members are very thankful for their lives this X-mas.

He gave those people the best Christmas they will have in their entire lives. Think about how happy they are to be alive! The shooter was a regular Saint Nick... a martyr even! [clap]
[bang] +1 on the glad he didn't hurt anyone.

[laugh] my thoughts exactly!
Here's mroe footage -

One female member of the board attempts to disarm him prior to the footage Dave linked to. Also the link above has some more of the talking. Gotta give the Superintendent some credit, he keeps pretty damn cool in the face of the guy with the gun. Super sure had some luck on his side, not to get hit from that first shot - looks initially like he'd got it dead center.
Wonder why he chose to paint the V logo from V for Vendetta on the wall
At one point the school board thought the shooter had used blanks.

That link takes you to the same vid that I posted.
The one thing that might have been a bit inflamatory and a "no-no" was calling the guy out on the fact that he wanted to die; it was right after that when the shooter opened fire! :-X

So it does - I'm not sure how to single out a video on that page with a link... The one I'm referencing is 5;18 long, and at the moment is the right most on the top row of additional videos below the main player.
[thumbsup] Thanks!
Considering what I pay up in NY metro in "school taxes"
for a bloated overstaffed, wasteful and squanderous bureaucracy that has nothing to do with educating the children...
I can understand the rage
I'm sure the guy didn't want to kill anyone.
It is too bad the brave woman didn't have a gun in her purse...

I doubt that having a gun in her purse would have made it hurt him more when she hit him with it. [cheeky]

too bad they all didn't have one somewhere.
There's plenty to argue on pro/con for ccw, but that's definitely an eye opener.
Hard to say why he missed everyone. They easily all could have been wheeled out under a sheet.
And so we're clear, I am pro ccw.
That is one lucky group of people.
He didn't miss everyone. ;)
Well, that's one way to look at it
:)

Apparently he was a big enough target that even he couldn't miss.
Anyone want to bet the school board building has a "No Firearms" sign on the front door?
Why didn't he obey it?
I wondered about that as well.
Also... IB4TL

Maybe he never learned to read and that's why he was mad at the school.

More information shows he was a pretty good shot. Like I mentioned before, he didn't want to kill anyone. I think he just wanted an excuse to kill himself. At that range he would have needed to be blind to miss.

You would be surprised at the amount of people who miss at close range the first time they are shooting a human being. Most times the person is so overwhelmed that they stare at the person and never see the sights on the gun. He also has atleast one AD into the floor, so he had no idea what he was doing.

yeah, the second (?) shot was totally accidental -- he was freaked out. adrenalin + high cholesterol + caffeine + twinkies.
It's sad but there's a video now on CNN of his wife trying to paint the situation as:
1) That he was a "military man" and that he was "trained to use guns."
2) That he missed on purpose.
3) That the reason he started shooting was to actually save the lives of the school board members "from the shooting of the SWAT team." because "when he started shooting he knew that they would duck and get down which would protect them from the shooting by SWAT."
[bang]
I like (sarcasm) that she said that he was "a military man". That could mean anything - he liked war movies? he played military video games?? he hunted deer??? She never clarified what branch of service he purportedly connected with...
There's an extreme case of denial going on there I think.
I'd say
