and you, your mask sucked

All good things must come to an end at some point.
Play hard.
I am of the belief that the Mayans were a very intelligent civilization.
They were great Astronomers depicted by the Glyphs ( short for hieroglyphs ) left on the ruins that have been found over the past couple of Centuries.
They also, and it has been proven once again, by their writings or Glyphs , and our Scientific and Astrnomical Community has authenticated the fact that the Myan Calendar is more accurate than the one we have been using for hundreds of years.
The Myan's Priests if you will wrote 12 Codeces, each for a period of 800 years .
Each marked a dramtic change in there civilization.
When the Conquistators arrived from Spain and the Spainish Priests found these Codeses they felt that these words were from the Devil and tried to burn them.
They did in fact manage to burn most all of them.
One survives in Desden , Germany known as the Dresden Codec .
Since it was the last of the 12 it appears to predict that on 12/21/12 that is when the end of time will be.
The end of the Earth the Mayans were predicting back hundreds of years ago.
Also there is a monolthic 150 foot Statue of a Mayan King carved out of solid rock on the side of a solid rock cliff face on an Island 4,000 miles out in the Pacific Ocean ....
This is an uninhabited Island ,... behind the staue of the Mayan leader , a certain King who has been identified , there is a carving of a large crounching Jaguar .
In the time of 12/21/12 , a total Solar Eclipsce will take place , only visible in the general area of that Island... and also an event that only happens rarely ...about every 100 or so years, that has to do w, Venus.
Both events will be visible right between the cupped hands of the Staute of the King ...!
The Mayans believe from their Astronomical studies that on 12/21/12 that another more significant event will take place.
The Sun will be in the exact center of the Milky Way Galaxy.
This will trigger a shift in the Poles of the Earth causing massive Earth Quakes , Tsunamis and Hurricanes...thus destroying people and most life forms.
Also there is a book, and ancient 6,000 year old text found in China that also predicts 12/21/12/ as the end of the Earth.
So I am preparing mentally for the end.
I'm hinting to anyone else who cares to question why 12/21/12.
No I'm not giving away my possessions.
Dolph
The Mayans never said that. It's today's hypsters that are making loads of money off this claim.
The sole source for the "We're all gonna die in 2012" is an inscription that suggests something may happen. Problem is most of the inscription is gone so you can read anything into it.
Another problem is the Maya have other predictions of future events. Several as much as 4,000 years from 2012. You can't have it both ways.
Last the claim that the "Mayan calendar ends" is wrong:
"While many clam the calendar "ends." the date isn't 2012.
"this date lies some 41,341,049,999,999,999,999,999,994,879 years in the future, or 3 quintillion times the scientifically accepted age of the universe."
I'm with Kopf. ;)
Since we over here will hit 21/12/12 or what you call 12/21/12 before you, I'll let you know what happens. ;D

everyone is wrong, trust me I'm an expert believe that and I also have a few bridges for sale ;D
Anyway, that is a significant date for the Mayans....but not necessarily the end of everything, just the end of that cycle and beginning of the next.
In their past the changing of the cycles usually did bring with them great changes but it's not necessarily doom and gloom, could just be a new Apple product coming out or something this time around. [cheeky]
Because the jackass Conquistadors destroyed most everything all we have is a tiny amount of info to speculate from.
What is so amazing was how great of mathematicians and astronomers these people were (as well as some of these other ancient civilizations).
We will not be in the center of the galaxy on the date, not exactly. Picture a platter, it has some thickness right? Now if you trace an orbit around the center but tip the orbit at a bit of an angle. On that date, or approximately so, we cross the midpoint of the thickness. Any significance to it? Maybe, maybe not but it is interesting how it all coincides.
I cling to some hope that something does occur around that date, I hope for something good like maybe a light will shine from the sky and assholes will magically start using common sense and life will become less annoying.
