Title: When someone gets in your face
Post by: He Man on March 18, 2011, 12:04:05 PM
Fight On Subway Over Spaghetti (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz_dZBwTuMs#normal)

this shit happens too often. Happened to me several times but over some other bs.

Honestly for the guys out there, say you did get into a situation where crazy girls get in your face and your asking them to move out of the way. What would you do?

I for one, would not hesitate to push her out of my way. Not to hurt her. but i think 75% of the time, she will come back with nails and punches and hair grabbing. Which consequently, i have no problem knocking her teeth out.

people need to chill the make the beast with two backs out man.

Don't people have better things to do than start a fight with a stranger in the subway??

how long is that vid?  plenty of time to have that not happen.

so why talk to anyone to begin with?

and then why not get up and change cars?

that wasn't a random crazy in your face out of nowhere thing... it escalated.

and Heman, think twice before any defensive pushing if you could have just walked away... we just spent a day off work and the equivalent of $750 attorney time defending a friend in criminal court because a drunk who attacked him later swore out an affidavit for assualt.  We got it thrown out, but it's time and (for anyone else, money) that in hindsight our buddy thinks wasn't worth it when he could have simply outrun the drunk for a block and been done with it.

I'm all for being able to defend oneself against actual threat of violence, but come on... people just don't frequently get up in your face for no reason and when they do it's easy to get away. (rode NYC subways for many years)

Statler you are absolute right that you should do your best to avoid situations as best as you can.  You dont know who is carrying a knife these days and you dont know what psychopath you will run into and what they are capable of or what they will turn around and say. People will lie their ass off to prove a point.

I'm just saying if it got to the point where you got cornered in like that (she was seated and blocked off) and i tried to leave, i will push someone out of my way to get out of the situation. No choice scenario. I dont care if someone calls me a pussy if i turn my back on them, but people turn around and grab your shoulders sometimes, or just keep backing you into a corner. It just happens sometimes.

But yea, there is plenty of time to not have it happen, and the best option was to just not say anything and change carts if it annoyed you that much.

I hate to say it, but the white woman got what she had coming to her.
I grew up in NYC, so there are rules you should follow to not get into situations like that.

First off, she started crap with someone on the subway about eating food. That's a -1 on intelligence, and a -1 on self preservation, and a -2 for not minding your own damn business.

Second, she started crap with a young black girl who has her friend with her on the train. That's a -2 for being outnumbered, and a -5 for being out crazied.

Third, she kept the argument going, when she could have ended it at anytime. That's a -1 for not knowing when to STFU.

Fourth, she said the words "going to call the cops on you". That's a -5 for being a snitch, and no one likes a snitch.

Fifth, when the 2 black girls got up, for whatever deranged reason, she decided to get up, too. Another -1 for lack of self preservation.

Sixth, when the larger black girl started shoving her friend into the DWW (dumb white woman), instead of going on the offensive immediately, and smashing the container of spaghetti into SBG's (Small Black Girl) face, then throwing haymakers, she allowed them to get the tactical advantage, smash the spaghetti in her face first, and choose when they should start throwing punches. -50 for not identifying the best military strategy.

And finally, she should have known that her ability to out ghetto the two black girls was practically non-existent. -10 points for that.

She got into a fight she had no business getting into.
She had many avenues to exit the argument, and chose not to.
She should have minded her own business, and let the cops handle a person eating food on the subway themselves if they noticed it, but she chose to be a busy-body.
She stood up, and let herself become and easy target.
She let them make the first blow, and let them use the spaghetti on her face.
She was too stupid to know this wasn't a situation she was going to ever win.

She's lucky the other riders on the train intervened, and stopped the beat down.
I bet she had a bad day at work, and started pregnant doging at them on the train to try and vent her frustration.
I bet she also isn't a native NY'er.
Probably from Ohio or Indiana, would be my guess.

Some people just have no ability to evaluate a situation, and know what the best course of action is for self preservation. I hope she learned something from the ass-whooping she invited.

BC.

That's it, I'm throwing spaghetti at Heman if I ever see him on the Subway.  [cheeky]

+1 on the above

If someone is eating on the subway, I could give two shits. Instead I inwardly cringe thinking about what kinda nasties are floating around landing in their food.

My tactic is to always stand on the subway even when there are seats available and to always look like I might have just a few screws loose. 10+ years now and no problems yet.  [thumbsup]

nothing more dangerous than the crazy white guy
crazy "whatever else" guy might shoot or stab you
crazy white guy, who the hell knows what they'll do

I use a similar tactic when in bad neighborhoods, I look overly pleased to be there.
Nothing scarier than a smile when there should be none.

Agree with most of what Bladecutter said, but I would give the DWW a few points for having the nerve to stand up for what is right.  It kinda irritates the shit out of me to see people blatantly disregard the rules and everyone around them.  Granted it was a series of dumb moves by DWW, and she had very little tact, but she was calling someone out for breaking the rules/law.  Most of us just turn the other cheek.  Would I have bothered?  Probably not.  As Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid."

you'd be correcting people every two minutes on a NYC subway if you felt that was your duty
it would not be a very lengthy career

Yeah, you're right about that.  I just wanted the DWW to get a few positive points.  Guess it's the Human Resources side of me, giving both positive and negative feedback.

It pisses me off too... these are the same people that litter where ever they go.  Driving through Newark the other day the amount of garbage on the ground just blew me away.  Maybe it was the contrast of the beautiful day and absolute shit hole of a city.  Even though the crappy burb I live in is boring, it is clean.  The only place where you constantly see garbage on the ground is within a 10 yard radius of the bus stops.  [roll]

Their blatant disregard for rules will catch up with them eventually.

there are times to stand up for The Rules and times to let shit go.

Someone eating their dinner on the train, probably to/from work?  big deal.  If they're not slopping it on you, who cares.

because taking it down to the trash bins requires too much effort

There had to be something said or done before the video started.  Something happened that made him want to start the video in the first place.  The whole "who eats spaghetti on the subway"  wouldn't of just come out of the blue like that.  I wish there was some write up or more about the whole thing.

The Lower Eastside Tenements weren't any better in the 19th and early 20th Centuries than any of the current venues

It never ceases to amaze me that people are surprised about human squalor, human behavior etc etc...

Coming out of the hole, we are all basically no better than Travis the Chimp if we are operating without training in higher-order behavior and socialization....

we just have less hair, wear clothes and have a bigger range of communication noises

the simple truth of the matter is that the only thing that "might" possibly differentiate us from a cage of our cousins at the zoo

is training

I would rather endure someone eating on the train than evacuating their bowels on the train...which I have witnessed....

IRT  Wall Street...Uptown Express rush hour...Chambers Street stop...

"Homeless" man (de-institutionalized insane) filthy and stinking gets on the train wild-eyed and looking like he could go-off at any second...Captain Craptastic came in through the end set of side doors...

were are now on our way to 14th Street...which can be an eternity depending on train congestion or worse what is going on in the subway car you choose to ride in

I am watching him from my safety position...I am standing by the door between the train cars in case I see a reason to move to the relative safety of another subway car...

grabs the floor-to-ceiling pole....people get a whiff and start clearing back from him....he is only about 5 or 6 feet away from me and it is overpowering

all of a sudden he starts bouncing up and down....I recognize the dance...

my son used to do it as a toddler when he was getting ready to load up his diapers

I immediately smile to myself and turn, open the end-door and move quickly to the next subway car

watching through the end-door windows I see him still holding the pole and shaking his leg wildly to get the shit he just let loose out on the floor

within seconds a mob of commuters is trying to force their way into my new subway car

there is a cardinal rule in subway riding...

if it is rush hour and a packed train rolls into the station and it has one completely empty car

DO NOT board that car....there is something really really bad in there that you don't want to see or experience

LOL i see i brought out the new yorkers here.

that fat lady got what she deserved. but at the same time those 2 girls need to chill the make the beast with two backs out.

im sure this is what happened

white lady thinks shes a boss and mumbles something like ,dont you have any manners to not eat on the train?
2black girls laugh and say something stupid
white lady continues to run her mouth and there is an exchange of words prompting the video.

train etiquette is unspoken but simple.

if there are a ton of people, you dont eat anything. if it is filled but not packed, you may only eat easy to eat things that dont smell. if its midnight/drunk go home time, go far in a corner and eat whatever you want.

If someone is loud as shit, you move. and if theres no place to move, well, you can decide to say something or hold it in, but be sure that your ready to fight cause obviously they know its loud, they just dont care and do it to piss people off.

everyone whos actually lived in nyc growing up, especially in a not so good area has got some crazy make the beast with two backsing stories of shit theyve seen on the train. its almost a regular occurrence.

i wonder what would happen if the girls were talking during a movie and the lady told them to stfu.
they would politely say, "Oh I'm quite sorry, I didn't realize that I was being so loud."  [cheeky]

My wife's one daughter was living down by Philly and she and her boyfriend went to the movies one night. The group behind them was loud as hell so at some point she turned around and politely said, "I'm sorry but I can't hear the movie." They laughed and started kicking the back of their seats.

She turned back around and said, "C'mon stop the bullshit, I want to watch the movie." One of the girls in the group replied back, "I'm gonna pull your make the beast with two backsing hair!"

She said back, "Fine, if it keeps you occupied and quiet go right the make the beast with two backs ahead!"

Then someone grabbed her from behind, her boyfriend hit someone, she somehow got herself turned back around and kicked someone right in the face with her tall stilleto heels and the whole place erupted into chaos.

They somehow got out a side door and got away from there. Turns out the cops came, arrested a bunch of people as it turned into a riot scene and some people got hurt.
I am never going to the movies with that girl.

I spend a lot of time in temple and this story sounds 100% accurate. Except no one was shot which is unusual.

People are animals in the city. I have seen some disgusting shit happen in Philly that made me consider the eugenics movement a good idea.
