Title: Which would you buy?
Post by: RYLARK09 on March 21, 2011, 11:26:59 AM
If you were in the market for a new m1100, would you find a 2010 with the dry clutch or wait for the 2011 with the traction control/abs?

I haven't tested one yet, but I like the idea of ABS - even though it steals another 1.5 liter tank capacity...

Traction control..... hmm.... not unless you're going to ride VERY hard.

Both extras are something a future second owner might appreciate.

I don't like the new style exhaust, but traction control could be fun.

I would look for a deal on a 2010.

Yeah - the new Diavel like exhaust is awful. ABS might be nice, but loosing 1.5 liters of fuel is not such a great price to pay.

I'd buy a Streetfighter.

i'd get the dry clutch, but that's pure personal preference. looks like the 848 dry conversion would work if you are jonesin' for the '11 with abs/tc

Oh, I thought the question was about current models.  Then yeah, S4RS, but get the black one.

I'd try work a deal on a '10. You're less likely to need TC on a bike like that than you would on a sbk.

Dry Clutch.  Unless you want to carry a tambourine:

I'm not beholden to the dry clutch, but I wouldn't want to give up fuel capacity so it'd be a 2010 for me.  I'd also have to look really hard at a S4RS and Streetfighter as well.

I do love my S4RS, but the one thing that continues to frustrate me is that the fuel capacity is very limited, and it doesn't increase when the tank swells up.
