Anyone going? it is happening at 6PM 19th n Kstreet at the 19th Hole, Friday the 25th.
I just realized you are on DCSB with the same name. I'm thinking about it. That is pretty close to my place.
I'll admit that I'm not terribly familiar with that area, but the local seems an odd venue for a motorcycle unveiling. Who's putting this on? The bar(?) doesn't mention it on their web site.
That is a kinda strange venue and 6pm, on a weekday, in DC? Isn't the city mostly lawyers? I'd love to go, but I can't sneak out that early.

this was on colemand powersports schedule of events...
I know the neighborhood generally ( Dolci works a half a block from there) and I can honestly say...at 6pm...I wouldn't want to be in the mix of rush hour "exodus from the city" traffic for to be at this event!!!
Coleman is doing it at the bar because 95% of their floorspace is devoted to other brands. They don't want to piss off Yamaha/Honda/etc
it's a block from the Farragut West metro stop if that helps anyone.
Its also a block from my office, maybe I'll walk over for a few minutes ;)

Well the city isn't mostly lawyers, but that area has the high concentration - I'm guessing that's the target market for this bike :)
6PM is happy hour so that'll get the most people in to see it.
I was half-joking, but this spot of K-street is heavily dominated by big law firms and almost all young(ish) associates will be working a heck of a lot later than 6pm. Maybe they are hoping to draw folks out for a few min on a break from work or something. On the few occasions I've been to near-by bars for happy hours they've been a lot more crowded at 11-12 than 6ish. Now get near a federal building and happy hour starts at 5pm [roll]

oh yes, our tax dollars hard at work only till 4:59pm...
It is dominated by law firms, this is true. My fiance is a lawyer and works right at 19th and K.
Not a lawyer but I work with a dozen or more of them - we're at 18th and K as well. I've already got happy hour plans involving tequila, so despite the proximity, I'll be skipping this one.
I'll be there at 8:30, after work, probably drinking a Peroni by myself. I'll knock the bike over and yell "They call me ZOOOOM!" Probably start fight with any members of my old firm if any are there.

hahahahahahaahaha....
So Is anyone going or what?
I think I will stop through! [moto]
Not I.
I'm pretty slammed at work, but might walk over for a few minutes - I'll be in brown slacks and a sorta brown/burnt orange shirt and black overcoat.
Yeah gonna stop by around 6pm and then head out to philly for the weekend.
I think a friend and I will be riding over there around 6:30.
I swung over for a while and just got back. Pretty nice event - they even have a couple of bikes inside the bar and have the bar tenders in ducati shirts :) Even met up with an old friend I hadn't seen in years there [thumbsup] (though I didn't see any other lawyers - lots of students and such).
they also have the shop race bike which I liked better than the diavel.
I showed up too. Decent turnout. I don't know some of you guys or I would have said hi.
It was a nice tutn out, hung out with ducati culture n my boy charles, who managed to pick up a chick that has a decent rack [bow_down]

Hmmm... Guess I should re-think this whole staying in thing...
I caught the tail-end. Free t-shirt, lanyard, pressure gage, some other stuff. Good actual set-up - they had one outside for revving, and one inside for looking. The bike itself isn't bad; Ducati uses the flapper valve to control noise on the "street" setting. Interesting. Can't be good for the motor... A nice married girl kept me company while I drank my $2 Peroni.

Harley started using those flappers on their bikes in Europe to pass noise regs about 10 years ago -- none on the US bikes. It's a good idea but I think the regulators will get wise to it.
DucPond event was great, could have been a little warmer, test rides were on Saturday. - Gene
