The RRW mentioned some software named RaceRender (http://www.racerender.com/ (http://www.racerender.com/)) that combines data acquisition with video, but I'm looking into something called DashWare (http://www.dashware.net/ (http://www.dashware.net/)) that looks even better.

So how do you set it? Does it automatically know that you're on the track?

Smartphones generally do (http://www.thestreet.com/story/11100512/1/apple-iphone-tracking-tech-weekly.html) :)

I can just see using an app like that, only to have Verizon interrupt a kick ass lap by texting you mistargeted ads for NASCAR...

Hell, even some cars know you're on a racetrack. Apparently the speed governor on many supercars will shut off if the built in GPS detects you're at a racetrack...
