Title: Replacement wallets Post by: He Man on July 11, 2011, 08:02:19 PM I've had the same wallet for the past 9 years. I need something new. Most of you guys probably have the same problem with ahving a TON of junk in your wallet and its so damn big it gets annoying to even carry around.
Have anyone of you found a suitable replacement? Like a money clip or a super thin wallet? I only need to lug around 1 credit card, ID, maybe 4-5 bills, and 2 other plastic cards. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: kopfjäger on July 11, 2011, 08:28:19 PM I haven't carried a wallet in 40yrs.

I might have to try that. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: kopfjäger on July 11, 2011, 08:37:19 PM So you just stare decidedly at vendors until they give you stuff for free? High quality that lasts a long time, lots of places to put things and not expensive at all.
Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: WarrenJ on July 12, 2011, 04:42:42 AM I've got a rayskin wallet - they are darn near indestructable, and look cool IMHO.
Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: fastwin on July 12, 2011, 04:57:53 AM I gave up on wallets 20+ years ago. Believe it or not I use a medium size binder clip from Office Depot. Works great as a money clip and I can change colors if I want to! [laugh] Drove my ex-wife crazy. I think she bought me two different wallets one year as gifts but I never used them.
Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: the_Journeyman on July 12, 2011, 05:06:02 AM I carry a wallet, used to carry a money clip though. I've got a nice engraved clip. The current wallet, that has taken a ton of abuse is a Geoffrey Beane that I found at Wal-Mart. It's you basic single-fold wallet, license sleeve, space for 12 cards and of course a full-length bill area.

I hate carrying it aorund. Ill take a look at the links here later tonight. Are money clips or ultra slim wallets better for carrying the bare essentials. I feel like if i had a money clip, my ID would fall out if i pull a bill out or something. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: ducatiz on July 12, 2011, 07:21:13 AM I carry a cheap Samsonite business card folder that I got at office max for $10
i hate large wallets, and it forces me to economize on what I am carrying around with me. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: DarkStaR on July 12, 2011, 08:29:43 AM I've been using Tumi wallets for about 10-12 years.
First leather, but that ends up streatching a little. In the last 7-8 years I swtiched to the ballistic nylon, no complaints. One of the few non-leather wallets that still looks like a big boys wallet. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: Goat_Herder on July 12, 2011, 09:25:39 AM get a money clip (or magnetic ones) if you travel light and don't carry alot of plastic.

http://www.zappos.com/tumi-monaco-slim-card-case-brown-leather (http://www.zappos.com/tumi-monaco-slim-card-case-brown-leather) now if only i could find a way to slim down my key chain [roll] Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: Mulletbiker on July 12, 2011, 10:46:36 AM get a money clip (or magnetic ones) if you travel light and don't carry alot of plastic. Make sure you only get a magnetic one if you plan on carrying No plastic. A magnetic money clip can make the strip on the back of your card useless. Don't ask me how I know this [roll] Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: Dirty Duc on July 12, 2011, 11:12:11 AM I have one very similar to this:
(http://cache.jcpenney.com/storeimages/large/0900631b81b3bf35L.jpg) the side you can't see has an ID window. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: DanTheMan on July 12, 2011, 01:14:19 PM Been using one of these for years, i like the magnetic ones better, and it doesn't harm my credit cards.

And when I slim the stash down to the basic id, charge card and a few bills I can go with a smaller binder clip. We're talking cheap and efficient here... and colorful!! [laugh]

It never 'broke in' and was always uncomfortable after about 6 months. My wife asked what I wanted for christmas last year and I asked for one of these.
http://www.leathergoodsconnection.com/wallets.html (http://www.leathergoodsconnection.com/wallets.html) I got the small size ponderosa and only use the chain when I'm on my bike or at the street fair or something. They have smaller/slimmer ones than the ponderosa, but it broke in after a couple days compared to my last fossil which is now gathering dust in my closet. A little pricey but made in america sold me on it. Title: Re: Replacement wallets Post by: DucHead on July 17, 2011, 10:30:03 AM George and I carry this:
