Title: New air filter Post by: ZachDDill on November 29, 2011, 07:46:09 AM So I just came to realize today that I am long overdue for a new filter, I was thinking and I realized, this is a great oppertunity to get away from stock, so my question is, What kind of filter should I get, and also, Is it something I could pick up at a local auto part store?

No, you cannot get them anywhere else, you can find them online. They are all the same on teh 2v models. The oiled cotton gauze allow more air - which you then need more fuel. Stick to the OEM style paper media filters.
Not all 2v filters are the same. Older bikes they are roughly square, newer rectangular. Just look up your year and get the filter for it. And no, your local auto parts shop won't stock one. A moto store might, but you'll probably be ordering. Won't that automatically adjust to the new air flow? Title: Re: New air filter Post by: scduc on December 02, 2011, 01:29:00 PM I'm not so sure he will have issues with the k&N. As long as he does'nt mess with the stock air box. From a previous post, I believe he is wanting to jet the carbs. I don't see any reason to buy paper filter only to have to buy a k&n when he jets it.
