Not sure if this is the best spot, but I figure those who do a lot of their own tech work might be more inclined. to want one.
Apparently Baxley will be droppoing the price by $61 on the sport chock as of Jan 1, 2012. Still doesn't make them cheap.. but they are a lot more accesible now.
If you're a track rider there is nothing easier than pulling in to the pits and just driving into the chock.
I really like mine.
I can do that in my garage. It is a great product.
This looks like a classier version of http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/151573/MAINT-STAND/151573.html (http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/151573/MAINT-STAND/151573.html)
I have the BikeMaster and like it, at $135.
I have had my Baxley for 5 years now and I wouldn't have changed that purchase for anything else...it has exceeded my expectations and made my life easier in so many ways....I actually have been looking at other chocks for to put a second bike on one for the winters, since my track bike hogs up all the usage of the Baxley almost exclusively.
Harbor Freight just dropped the price on their cheap copy of the Baxley too

Ducatiz, that's the really marginal version. Closer to the Baxley is http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-stand-wheel-chock-97841.html (http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-stand-wheel-chock-97841.html)

that's the link i meant to post
which THAT particular unit scares me as it reminds me too much of the Condor in construction which I will never own or use after seeing at a Cornerspeed class date at VIR an Aprilia V90 come in off the track and park in his Condor chock and the thing wouldn't hold the bikes warm rubber tire and let the bike topple over sideways and took out a row of bikes dominoes style....
Yeah....well, that's harbor freight for you
OP - where did you get this info? I didn't see such an announcement on the Baxley site.

this is where I had read it a couple hours before SP posted it....
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/baxley-sport-chock/ (http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/baxley-sport-chock/)
see bottom of page for notes in conclusion...
^ Yep.
Follow that link and go aaaalll the way to the bottom of the page:
"List Price (as of Jan. 1, 2012): $189.00 + Shipping. ($10.00 extra for colors). Before Jan. 1, ask for Brian Newsom at Baxley to get the webBikeWorld price."
Awesome, thanks guys!
I have the HF one (second link) and I'm not that impressed. Luckily it only cost $40 with a coupon. I've used the Baxley version and it is far superior, and easier to haul around. The HF one is very large and heavy.

This item kind of sucks. i have one, but won't use it anymore...
think i will call about the Baxley tomorrow!
can these stands be used for everyday use for lazy ppl? are they that stable that you'd roll onto it after a ride and walk away leaving it for a week or are they better suited to occasional supervised use?

Rock solid
My 996 spends the entire winter on one.
the vid on their website is pretty convincing... and the new cheaper price of 189=10 for colours is gooood..
[roll] i really don't need it, but Its so cool and i hate the dicky little side stand on my monster. hmmm

Oh yeah they are stable. Until my recent move my bike lived outside in my codos lot. I had a spot where I could chain down the chock and parked my bike in it all the time. It weathered plenty a storm including what bits of the hurricane hit the mid atlantic.

my track Monster lives in mine also....I have seen people with thinner rear tire bikes also use it to back into....like 170 series and smaller...
I love mine as well.
I have seen bikes tip right out of Condor stands in highish wind at a track day.
The other stands on the market (Condor, HF stands etc) can't really be called knock offs because the baxley chock actually grips the tire as you rock into the stand. The others don't. And if it's Condor we're talking about, it seems to actually repel motorcycle rubber [laugh]
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with Condor issues. A buddy has a couple and I had to move one of his bikes. I couldn't get it loaded back in the Condor chock for the life of me.

This one grips as well, but the Baxley chock looks a bit more stable. (I guess their patent isn't valid in Europe)

The only problem I have is that when I roll the bike not 100% straight into it, the bike leans over a bit.

That's pretty much geometry. The Baxley will do the same.
You can't tip the bike over if you try.

That is most definitely a knock off ;)
Nate's right about not tipping over. I sat on the 999 and hung off it and it didn't come out of the baxley.

more likely, they could not get a patent for it. it's not really novel.
I have a baxley for each of my two bikes. I use them for daily bike storage in a small garage (saves space), transportation in trailers and pickups, and at the track. I would buy them even if they RAISED the price. Wonderful product all the way around.

My 900lbs Harley lives on one in the garage. I put an accordion hinge on a 6 foot plank of wood to drive up and out of otherwise the stand comes with the bike. I've had it for two years with no troubles at all.
