Title: Brightest headlight option Post by: michaeljr on June 30, 2012, 03:34:52 PM Okay, I'm about ____ <--- that close to having the duc, few weeks away (Thank you deo!)
One of the first things I'd like to do, is increase visibility on a major level. Many retrofit HID systems look great, but disappoint in function (my truck fell for this, although it looks mean). Looking for function over form. Options? Suggestions that work best for the monster? I know my way around bikes, so if it's complicated and requires a bit of work with the harness, no worries. Thanks! Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: DarkMonster620 on June 30, 2012, 04:03:32 PM I installed a PIAA super bright and super expensice bulb . . . works great
Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: showerfan on June 30, 2012, 06:55:36 PM did you install it yourself? is it easy? what about the high beam? thanks

Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: OT on July 01, 2012, 05:44:47 AM There should be a bunch of threads about headlights on this board; try the Search feature - I used "HID", restricted the search to the Tech and Accessories & Mods boards and got 20+ pages of threads to check out...

Will see how this dual headlight option turn out on my 750...went from projector to this....will definitely wont be the same as projector but it will definitely change the look of the front-end.Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: showerfan on July 01, 2012, 07:07:01 PM doesn't look like a monster with two lights [coffee]
Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: michaeljr on July 01, 2012, 07:34:19 PM Are the new generations of HID retrofit kits up to par on the level of OEM car applications? If they are producing that level of light, and not just for pure aesthetics, than I'm all in for that. Anyone have experience with the slim ballast 6000K models?

Anyone have experience with the slim ballast 6000K models? the reflector will not properly focus and direct light from a HID source. You'll end up with lots of glare and pissing off everyone around you. if you're cool with that, then tally ho. You'll end up with lots of glare and pissing off everyone around you. I second this...if you're cool with that, then tally ho. If you want a real "bright" light source upgrade to ur bike, then go with bi-xenon projector retrofit into your headlight bucket. Many guys like He-man, and SupraGuy, and other have done it successfully or go with the LED headlight such as Trucklite Phrash 7. Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: COP TZR on July 02, 2012, 04:57:49 PM after coming from a dual headlight setup up with brighter bulbs, I am WAAAAYYYY happier with my 6000K slim ballast HID setup. Light output is perfect. If aimed properly, it illuminates enough in front of me and side to side without pissing anyone off. Plus i ride with a tinted visor at night and can still see perfectly with the visor down.
[thumbsup] Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: seanster on July 02, 2012, 05:21:27 PM after coming from a dual headlight setup up with brighter bulbs, I am WAAAAYYYY happier with my 6000K slim ballast HID setup. Im having problem with my speedo cable though, it so tight and my speedo wont work...bike is the one with the speedo front wheel. Anyone running dual headlight have the same problem? Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: ducatiz on July 03, 2012, 07:21:11 AM Do you want a bright headlight to see or be seen?
If it is the latter, then save your money on the xenons and pick up a Path Blazer https://www.kisantech.com/index.php?cat_id=2 (https://www.kisantech.com/index.php?cat_id=2) Title: Re: Brightest headlight option Post by: COP TZR on July 03, 2012, 05:19:39 PM You sure will piss me off....haha jk I just got my twin headlight and loving it. Im having problem with my speedo cable though, it so tight and my speedo wont work...bike is the one with the speedo front wheel. Anyone running dual headlight have the same problem? I had that same problem when I had my duals. I couldnt get the cable on the speedo because of the housing of the left headlight being in the way. No clearance at all. Tried raising my gauges up and forward, but that looked like absolute crap. I ended up having to run without it. Sucked! I've been riding with the HID setup now for 2 weeks, and following a few friends on bikes and cars. Both of which said that my lights had no blinding affect to either of them. Its just got to be aimed properly and you will have great results. |
