Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: Slide Panda on February 25, 2013, 05:45:29 AM Where did you get the jig? C'mon now - you had to know that he made it. The guy can weld Ti like a champ - a few bits of steel will present no challenge. ;D Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: MonsterHPD on February 25, 2013, 12:23:20 PM Randy,
really, really high class work, makes my own feeble attempts in this direction seem generally embarassing. I assume the quality comes not just from enthusiasm but also from a lot of professional experience (maybe the answer is in the monster frame thread, but I´m still working my way through that one...). The quality of those welds is a real joy to see [clap] [clap] As I´m planning for a frame job of my own, but in steel tubing, I´d be interested in any hints about tube bending and tube end preparation (I think I´ve seen the expressions "fishmouthing" somewhere) you´d care to share. I´ll be following this very closely, for sure [bow_down] Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: Randy@StradaFab on February 25, 2013, 02:28:07 PM Quote As I´m planning for a frame job of my own, but in steel tubing, I´d be interested in any hints about tube bending and tube end preparation (I think I´ve seen the expressions "fishmouthing" somewhere) you´d care to share. I'd be glad to help in any way. Shoot me an email if you want, stradafab@yahoo.comI have just about all of the tubes tacked in: (http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr62/porsche40/Ducati%20Sport%20Classic/DSC02236.jpg) (http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr62/porsche40/Ducati%20Sport%20Classic/DSC02235.jpg) Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: Raux on February 25, 2013, 02:33:28 PM is that going to be straight sport classic
or are you putting SS style rear suspension on it? Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: Randy@StradaFab on February 25, 2013, 03:13:47 PM It's going to be a straight Sport Classic. I never even thought about a SS rear suspension....

Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: DRKWNG on March 01, 2013, 03:42:21 AM So what sort of weight difference are you expecting with this frame? What tube set are you using? Curious about the torsional/lateral rigidity compared to the stock steel frame.
Title: Re: Titanium Sport Classic Frame Post by: Randy@StradaFab on March 01, 2013, 03:32:19 PM I think it will weigh around 13-14lbs. Stock is around 27-28.
