Defensemen locked up, another good goalie in Conklin to back up Ozzie, and now Hossa :o
[thumbsup]
Can you tell I'm stoked? ;D
go wings.
though, more concerned about pistons.
GO Sharks! I just got season tickets last week. They let Brian Campbell sign with the Blackhawks, but for the contract he got I'm glad we didn't match that, too much money. They do need to make a move here in Free Agency...
Thank you money tight pens :-*
A very impressive reload by the Wings.
oh yea and
GO WINGS!
Do the Wings need MORE talent? It's stacking the deck. I HATE those Wings! [bang]

Yes, yes and yes!
Funny how the Wings can keep a team under the new "cap system" that everyone else is pregnant doging about [evil]
I think the Wings are reporting their total salaries in EUROS, not dollars and not putting a unit on the number. Damn cheaters.... >:( >:(
So the Wings cheated before the cap by spending too much money and now they cheat by knowing how to work with a cap. [roll]
The Wings are reloading, while other teams are rebuilding or "moving some personal around". [laugh]
wings blow, lets go blues!

True they really showed the Wings a thing or two in the playoffs.

If they were paying in EUROS, they'd be waaaaaaaaaaay over the cap, based on the value of the dollar. [roll]

I didn't say they were paying in Euros, rather, they CONVERTED to euros and then didn't put a unit on the number they report. It would decrease the number by a quarter assuming the euro is worth 1.5 dollars. Your response deserves a double roll-eyes! [roll] [roll] Muahahaha! Math rules! [evil]
I've not had enough [coffee] or [drink] to come up with any kind of response to that.
That being said, we've still got the Cup ;D

Um, yeeeeeaaaaah... I'm thinking my 'Hawks may have overspent just a wee bit on ol' Brian Campbell. I'm glad we got a puck moving PP quarterback, and he is a very mobile skater, but... but... what the heck has this guy ever done that warrants Lidstrom- or Pronger-type contract terms? Congrats for him for being the best D available in a thin year and cashing in, but damn... c'mon, Tallon... WTF?
That said, Huet should turn out to be a great addition, and Campbell does improve an already solid D. I am just happy that the Hawks improved this year during free agency, instead of getting worse like they did during Dollar Bill's reign of terror.
We're a playoff team this season, but we're not a cup contender. Gotta give the kids another year and hope Detroit's charter flight crashes in 2010.

Yikes! When it does, you're gonna feel REEEAAALLL bad! I'm just saying....
You're right about Campbell and that fat contract. I'll ask you since you're the Hawks fan: Was Chicago bleeding for a offensive D-man? Maybe that's why they're willing to pay so much...
Besides the Wings, I'm thinking Chicago will be one of the teams to beat.
Good team last year..some solid acquisitions so far...hope they can build on last years successes.

It will be nice if Chicago could get back to some version of it's former self. IMHO the O 6 should be the Jewels of the NHL.
Looks like detroit will be at the top of the division and #2 I'm hearing chicago, but nashville did hold #2 spot last year in the division and has been dominant the last few years, as in #1 the year before that, until detroit snuck by them to take the president's trophy. I t hink we'll see another good year from nashville.
Columbus and saint louis seem to have their work cut out for them.
In nashville we got rid of mason-good idea-tying up 3 million
Now we need to dump ortmeyer and get sullivan back on the ice and pick up one or two guys up front and we'll be fine.
Besides osgood, the best goalie in the playoffs last year was dan ellis, We'll see what he has to show this year.
Saint louis did get a solid back up with mason, in nashville we have too many goalies for him to be tying up money like that.
