Title: No SBK Love? Post by: ducpainter on September 02, 2013, 05:18:41 AM The Nurburgring round ended in a cluster make the beast with two backs.
1st race red flagged on the next to last lap due to oil on the track that the marshalls decided to not warn the riders about. Dorna needs to fine the track. Both crashes were at high speed and the injured riders could have died. Camier and Rae both airlifted to hospitals for treatment. Camier with neck injuries and Rae with a broken Femur. Sikes, Melandri, Davies... Race 2 ended in a red flag on the last lap due to fuel spilled from a highside. Davies, Laverty, Melandri. Overall, good racing with no real conclusion in either race because things would have gotten very interesting had the races not ended early. Title: Re: No SBK Love? Title: Re: No SBK Love? Post by: ducpainter on September 02, 2013, 05:50:34 AM Did the Apes blow up all over the track? Wasn't an Ape...It was Sandi on a Kwak. He was in the pits with a 'funny rattle' a lap or so before and was sent out. He either lost an oil cooler/line or put a rod through the front of the cases. The oil could be seen gushing from the front of the fairing, and he lost the front from his own oil. Next time around Rae and Camier bit it...and hard. Two safety issues...no oil flag...the marshalls in that corner really blew it. Not only was there no oil flag, they were displaying a green flag. Hay bales in front of the concrete wall. Really?...hay bales at an FIM world event? The 60's are long gone Dorna. Put your money into some track safety. Title: Re: No SBK Love? Post by: MadDuck on September 02, 2013, 08:48:10 AM True, true. As tight as the racing was in both races it was a shame to not get the last couple of laps in. Sykes was gifted race one. Things might have been totally different had they been allowed to run to the real end.
Too bad BMW is pulling out. I would hope they reconsider after this weekends showing. Hell it's only money. Interesting that the Audi/Ducati people were there to see first hand how bad their bikes are. Title: Re: No SBK Love?
