So... a coworker stole my iPod for a few minutes... after which he returned it in disgust. He claims I have the worst songs ever. I admit, I do have an eclectic taste in music, but the worst? 800 albums on here... and he says I have the two worst songs ever made..... so what do you think? Anybody care to share their most embarrassing songs on their playlist? Something you would fear a coworker or fellow rider knew about??
The two worst.... according to the coworker...
"We Built this City" - Jefferson Starship
"Ghostbusters" - Ray Parker Jr.
Personally... I thought the Hillary Duff and Yanni were worse... but they weren't the ones he picked. (However, I blame those on my kid... you got to load music to make the munchkins happy on road trips.)
umm.. Danger Zone?
but I'm not really ashamed of anything I listen to.

For me it would have to be the Cocktail soundtrack.

I told him that he couldn't diss me for that... those songs were on the same "Best of 80's" Album. ;D
Beach Baby by First Class [laugh]
it was on a AM Gold 70's Compilation...
i plan on deleting it one of these days [laugh]
Hmmmm.....
The embarrassing song, the artist, ... the reason I have it.
Safety Dance - Men Without Hats... ah, 1st year of boarding school...
If - Bread... J.L.A.B.... great skin...
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me - Culture Club - um, yeah
2 songs by Hilary Duff - did I mention it used to be my ex-wife's iPod?
Open Arms - Journey ... for when I need to get my "Middle School Slow Dance" on...
Dragostea Din Tea - O-Zone - um, yeah...
2 song by Sarah McLaughlin - did I mention it used to be my wife's iPod?
...and tons of Rush, Yes... and the entire Led Zeppelin Catalog 8)
I LOVE cheesy one-hit wonders. I find them hilarious and its fun to torture people with them. My fav of all time....
Blame it on the rain, by Milli Vanilli
actually I'm too Sexy by Right Said Fred is awesome too!
[bacon]
cmon, who's got some rick astley out there?
I Touch Myself: Christina Amphlett
got it from a questionable source
Lucky Star - Madonna.
It came on the Snatch soundtrack and I'm too lazy to delete it from my computer.
make the beast with two backsin' in the Bushes by Oasis makes up for it. Best. Guitar riff. Ever.

I got the dyvinals version of that song... with the music video. Ha!
I also have the DiVinyls version of that song.
Others:
2 legit 2 quit : M.C. Hammer
867-5309: Tommy Tutone
Unskinny Bop: Poison
Broken Wings: Mr. Mister
I'm going to have to go with the entire album:
Esthero: Wikked 'lil girls.
No excuses. I just dig it. I suppose in my defense 75% of the rest of it is metal. I really wouldn't call it embarrassing though. I'd happily pull up to anyone, anywhere with the rig at full volume. Especially either Justin Timberlake album. Plus the fact that I'm a 20 something guy cruising around in a mini van (work van) makes the looks I get pretty priceless.
So I mostly listen to stuff like Tool, Disturbed, etc....... except, I love Christina Aguilera
I've got a list you won't believe. Probably the most embarrassing ever.
Rock me amadaus-- falco
Believe it or not-- theme from greatest american hero
Superfreak-- rick james
Dancing queen-- abba
Copacabana-- barry manilow
Vagina song-- rodney carrington
Love will keep us together-- captian and tenille
The humpty dance-- digital underground
Last date-- floyd cramer
Pussy crook-- mystical
Ain't gonna bump no more-- joe tex
Baby got back-- sir mixalot
There are literally hundreds more. I been collecting for a long time. [laugh]
Without question, that would be "Hooty Sapperticker" by Barbara and the Boys. It is quite possibly the worst song ever recorded. I've got it on my iPod because without hearing it nobody will believe that it's actually the worst.
I've got most of Hooligan Machinist's and am proud of them.
Maybe I'm not completely proud of "Muskrat Love." I've got both the original America version and the Captain and Tenille cover.
Portal - Still Alive from Half Life
"Gangbang" by John Valby [laugh]
"Baby Got Back"--Sir Mixalot.
(I know you're singing it right now . . . )
i have some william shatner....

Milkshake - Kelis
I don't have an Ipod, so I walk around singing various songs by David Hasselhoff for all to enjoy!
Silent Night - Amy Grant
Walk Like an Egyptian - Bangles
Buttermilk Biscuits - Sir Mix Alot
The theme from Fraggle Rock
YMCA - Village People
Ballad of Bilbo Baggins - Leonard Nimoy
I downloaded everything from my wife's I-Pod. Of course, her gay friends put mixes on there from the likes of Paris Hilton and Eartha Kitt. [roll] :-[
One of my questionable downloads:
"Don't pay the Ferryman" by Chris De Burgh,
Nina Simone
Patsy Cline

Don't act like your not posting from your cell phone because you're camped out in front of the local theatre waiting to see the first showing of Mamma Mia!

You know, as someone who was in high school in the 70's and especially as someone who started listening to pop music in Germany when ABBA was as big as the Beatles, Mamma Mia was an absolute hoot, at least on stage. I especially liked the part at the end when the overweight, middle-aged former pop stars stuffed themselves into glittery spandex and tottered around on platform boots. Oh, and the guys dancing in snorkel gear including fins was pretty good, too.
I hope they didn't take the self-parody out of the movie.

Worse. I've got the collected works of Jonathon Coulton. The guy who wrote the portal song.

This post proves that my name should not by synonomous in ANY way, shape or form with ABBA!!
mstevens, you can add that ABBA avatar to your profile now! [cheeky]
This guy appears to be the true abba fan!
Okay... I reverse my prior worst song on iPod... I am listening to my music on random... and "Twist of Fate" by Olivia Newton John comes on... crikeys... where the hell did that come from?? Of course it was followed by "Burn" by The Cure... so I felt like I was redeemed... but I really need to take some of this stuff out of my play lists. :P

<shrug> I don't listen to pop music much at all any more. The 70's had an awful lot to apologize for besides ABBA. I mean, I've got photographic evidence of lime green polyester leisure suits that were the height of fashion!
The iPod is shared, so it reflects my wife's tastes as well as my 13 year-old's.
Hooty Sapperticker is still the worst ever. It totally blows ABBA out of the water. Come to think of it, it simply totally blows.
"Time After Time" -Norah Jones cover
So not only is it a girl song, its a girl song covered by an equally, at least, singer as the original singer.
There is really a lot. Just as I started typing this message "Ice Ice Baby" came on.
I have "groove is in the heart" by Dee lite. I used to have more stuff but I went in and cleaned things up recently.
this song :P

I mean...when you're driving down the road with a car full of people, and the song shuffles to the top...you get some funny looks. If it's my close buddies...they just laugh [laugh]
plus...I hand picked every other song on there. It's the only one that is even slightly embarrassing.
Sometimes...when I'm sitting in traffic for what seems like a life sentence...I just need to let go...

My most embarrassing ipod song? So many to consider...
* the full Jesus Christ Superstar CDs (original AND Weber versions)
* random Level 42 crap
* waaaaaay too much Bjork, including every remix known to mankind

By "original," do you mean the 1970 album that predated any of the stage performances or one of the stage productin recordings?
What is the "Weber version?"
Probably "Can't get you out of my head" by Kylie Minogue.
Only because it reminds me of this:

That '70 album is amazing. The movie wasn't bad, but doesn't compare to the album.
Coolio - "Gangsta's paradise"
Dazz band - "Let it whip"
Tone -Loc - Wild thing
Ween - Piss up a rope
That last one is a great song, but definitely not to be played when with the wife/GF.
alright, i'll come clean...
