As well as the other two Ducati's I have almost finished this one, its finished enough to use as my everyday ride. This was originally a 750 SuperSport (1992) that I bought of a mate for £365.
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/user14261_pic9947_1305917156_zps297e7f45.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/user14261_pic9947_1305917156_zps297e7f45.jpg.html)
After stripping it down, I needed to replace loads of bits:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/user14261_pic9960_1305985643_zps528089b5.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/user14261_pic9960_1305985643_zps528089b5.jpg.html)
I sold off all the plastics and powder coated the frame:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/DSCF2076_zps36fe481e.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/DSCF2076_zps36fe481e.jpg.html)
I found a broken carbon Monster S4 Challenge rear hump that with some work fitted over the original rear seat:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo0987_zpsdb97abc2.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo0987_zpsdb97abc2.jpg.html)

I sold off the 750SS engine and polished up the rear swing-arm all part of some mad plan:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8765_zpsa9d15c83.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8765_zpsa9d15c83.jpg.html)
I got hold of a carbed 900 bottom end, ready for some modification:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo0852_zpsdfdad803.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo0852_zpsdfdad803.jpg.html)
The only barrels and pistons I could find were from a 900ie:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo1342_zps36ba4c59.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo1342_zps36ba4c59.jpg.html)
With a bit of cleaning the fitted just fine. After a few weeks I managed to get some heads. The only down side was they were from two different bikes:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/engineheads_zpsb1e0862b.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/engineheads_zpsb1e0862b.jpg.html)

I fitted some Blackshadow discs to the front wheel:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/wheel_zpsb4c82447.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/wheel_zpsb4c82447.jpg.html)
The frame and rear sets were put in place:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/ssframe1_zps653eaf7a.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/ssframe1_zps653eaf7a.jpg.html)
Slowly but surely it started to take shape:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo10_zps1659d85c.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo10_zps1659d85c.jpg.html)
Again custom adjustable cam wheels were fitted to the engine:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8_zps8e2da76e.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8_zps8e2da76e.jpg.html)
Yorkie
The front end came together easily.
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo21_zps240db20f.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo21_zps240db20f.jpg.html)
It started to look like a bike:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo20_zps271e3e03.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo20_zps271e3e03.jpg.html)
Part of the project was to make it a single sided exhaust so a bit of chopping and some really bad welding and it was done:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo9_zpsf1893aa9.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo9_zpsf1893aa9.jpg.html)

To top it off I managed to get my hands on this end can:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/9b1bdfcc-facd-4336-92ac-9219ebadcbd4_zps0fe62a59.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/9b1bdfcc-facd-4336-92ac-9219ebadcbd4_zps0fe62a59.jpg.html)

With the carbs on it was time to fit some good looking alloy intakes:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo73_zps5dd161a7.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo73_zps5dd161a7.jpg.html)
I then fitted some really good bar end indicators:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo325_zps814b63d2.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo325_zps814b63d2.jpg.html)
Carbon front mud guard:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo342_zps3eff8419.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo342_zps3eff8419.jpg.html)
The grips were wire locked in place for a little racer look:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo324_zps66864005.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo324_zps66864005.jpg.html)
Next it was on to the limited body work.

After a bit of glassing and some filler the rear seat cover was looking quite tidy:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo11_zps97cc073f.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo11_zps97cc073f.jpg.html)
The fuel tank was cleaned up and prepped:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo9_zps9e11cff6.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo9_zps9e11cff6.jpg.html)
A friend then did the top coats:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo7_zpsfb2bf12d.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo7_zpsfb2bf12d.jpg.html)
The best part for me was my custom Ducati decals, based on the Relentless energy drink writing:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8_zps6498ae03.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo8_zps6498ae03.jpg.html)
I missed out some lighter bits that were put in the engine:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo12_zpsb54394db.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo12_zpsb54394db.jpg.html)

You know your stuff. [beer]
Are you otherwise employed? This must take up a lot of time.
[thumbsup] & +1 on that. You surely have your own workshop/business. If not you should!
Those carburettor velocity stacks are great. You make them?
How much work to match up the top end oil galleries, etc?
Cheers.
I fitted race pattern rear-sets for a difference:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo68_zps764e4728.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo68_zps764e4728.jpg.html)
The exhaust was so easy to fit and it soon turned out that the end can did not need any supporting brackets, so it was a really clean look:

The lock-up is a mates, he charges me nothing for the space or his time, and he has the skills. He has all the bits made (by another friend) and sells them here:

All the engine bits are plug and play really, so just a lot of cleaning.

Nearly at the end!
The rear seat cover had to look right, so a lot of playing around with how it sits was essential:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo61_zps695b933b.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo61_zps695b933b.jpg.html)

With the exhaust tighter to the swing-arm it was looking good (well I think anyway):
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo69_zps8a297485.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo69_zps8a297485.jpg.html)
The headers were covered in exhaust wrap to tidy it up:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo71_zps1ffc6c42.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo71_zps1ffc6c42.jpg.html)
The very small rear light and number plate hanger had to fit nicely under the seat:
(http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a615/Yorkie13/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo7665_zpse1bbc1bb.jpg) (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Yorkie13/media/Ducati%20Monster/Ducati%20750SS%20Project/photo7665_zpse1bbc1bb.jpg.html)

The loom was a nightmare and I ended up cutting out about 3 meters of wire to tidy it up:

A lot of after market stuff was fitted to make it right for me, I hid the electrics to the rear in a plastic pipe to keep the lines clean:

That is a heck of a lot of work done there, well done!
For no reason other than curiosity, how long from start to finish?

It took about 12 months-ish, working on it every other Saturday. I had the Monster running while I did this one.
One finished and one ready for the chop:

I see you have the oil cooler line bypassed in some pictures, but have an oil cooler installed in other pictures. What is the final outcome? And if you aren't running a cooler, why not?

The oil pipe came with the bottom end, it was off a race engine and didn't need the cooler. I now have the 999 oil cooler fitted and it looks great I think.

Very nice work. By any chance did the exhaust, no doubt being lighter, perform any better?
And how do you like the reverse shifter?
I am not sure about any performance differences as the bike has gone from a fully faired 750 to a naked 900 with a bodged together engine. To be honest I am still playing about with the adjustable cams to get the most out of it, but I will be having a custom 2 - 1 exhaust made in stainless.
The reverse shift I love it, it took a bit of getting used to but it's the way ahead. The only thing that gets me sometimes is neutral (I have no idiot lights) so I end up just turning it off and doing it by hand when I'm parking up!

The weather has been really crap over the last month so I have resorted to doing silly stuff, fitted a sprayed pressure plate today .....
