I've adjusted the chain plenty of times, but today I removed the wheel so I could get the tire replaced. When I put it back on, whenever I tighten the axle nuts, it binds on the wheel. Can't figure out what I did wrong. Any ideas?

M812/newer models, you only loosen Rh nut, this from top of my head . . . HD with manual not handy at this time

Never even having seen an 821...
looking in the parts fiche I'd guess something about the alignment of the two spacers...# 31 and 32 on page 96.

Looks like the spacer that's supposed to be on the right side of the wheel was still in when I took it to have the tire replaced. Now it's not...

				That would do it

Ugggg. Called the shop. They have it. Problem though, is that they're the opposite direction from my work and close at 8. Gonna be a PITA to leave work, battle traffic, and get there before close.
At least I'm not ordering a new one.

They might, but honestly, I want it back as soon as possible. I commute on the bike daily and each day I'm without it means at least an extra hour on the road plus a difference in about 25mpg...

I hear that...it'll be faster as long as you get there in time. Good luck.

Thanks. I'm heading the wrong way at that time of day as far as traffic goes....

Spacer picked up (they apologized and refunded my mount/balance charge for the inconvenience) wheel reinstalled. Everything lines up nicely with no binding.
Thanks again for the help guys!

Rode in this morning and all is well. So far, I like the Angel GT. Seems to track well, very smooth and predictable.

Question: did you replace both or just rear?

Just the rear. Figured I'd let the front wear out. I anticipate it will about the same time I need to replace this rear.

Absolutely. Depending on how this rear lasts will determine if I replace it with the same and go with an Angel GT front or end up back with the PR's.

the Angel GT was the one OEM fitment for the MTS1200/S Grand Turismo . . . from previous generation and the guy that has one, hasn't replaced it yet and has about 8k miles on it

I'm hoping for ~10k. But even 8 would be better than the 6 I got from the Rosso II

Rosso is a SPORT tire Angel is a Touring tire . . . Even the Diablos that came OEM with my bike, didn't last more than 5K kms or about 3k miles Got better out of the Dunlop D220, almost 10 000kms

Angel ST and GT, I've gotten 12k out of several rears, and 20k out of the one front I've worn out so far.

That's what I'm looking for. I had the PR2s before and lasted almost 11k before a nail ended it.

As much as I'm sure the Rosso II is billed as a sport tire, I didn't really have confidence in it. I was way more confident with the PRs (both PR2 and PR3) than I was under the same conditions. I didn't feel the tire had great grip while even partially leaned over...

Have you changed the TC settings from what you had with the Rosso?

No, I am still running the default settings in the touring mode. I didn't really push it today, being a new tire and all, but I didn't feel any TC intervention.

OK, so still no TC intervention under hard acceleration or anything. But I have noticed that the profile of the Angel GT is different than the Rosso II. Drop in is much slower on the Angel GT, as expected, so it's just going to take a little getting used to.

That's my guess. I imagine the Rosso II is a more triangular profile.

from the pics I've seen, GT is rounder, but, overall "same shape"

Yup, I think those two pics show exactly the difference.
Plus the GT is a 190 vs the Rosso II 180.

190 in a 5.5" wheel . . . how does it look? should be flatter than the one in pic

Oofff, too much rubber.
Unfortunately, the Rosso II is the only tire of that class in that size (180/60/17). And, due to the TC, it can't be easily replaced with something different. Being a commuter means that a tire that only lasts 6000 miles is not a viable option...

				Yup, rounder it is

				Update:
Tire now has over 11k miles on it and still looks good. Regarding the TC, I did end up changing it from 4 (of 8 ) down to a 3. I was getting a bit of intervention in tight corners on exit. Wheel didn't seem to be slipping but the TC light was coming on. So far so good.
But yeah, the GT looks like it has at least another 5k miles on it. Maybe more.
