Title: m900 clutch slave 1995 replace w early 2000 slave need 8mm ballbearing? Post by: paul rockwell on May 16, 2016, 09:02:28 AM My slave cylinder started leaking and my clutch gave out. I went to a cycle shop and bought a slave cylinder off an early 2000s monster. My bike is a 1995 monster 900m. I put the slave on and bled. The clutch wont engage. I did research and read that pre 2000 bikes have actuator rod that doesnt stick out as far and that adding a 8mm ball bearing will cure this problem? Is this true? I dont want to mess up slave if I have to return it.

Post by: ducpainter on May 16, 2016, 09:07:42 AM There were some aftermarket slaves that required the use of a ball bearing on some bikes, but 8mm sounds too big. I don't think it will fit inn the slave piston. I've also seen the ball wear into the piston.
You could get the longer pushrod. Title: Re: m900 clutch slave 1995 replace w early 2000 slave need 8mm ballbearing? Post by: paul rockwell on May 16, 2016, 11:48:26 AM Thank you

Some are cupped on one end to fit the round ended pushrods. Title: Re: m900 clutch slave 1995 replace w early 2000 slave need 8mm ballbearing?
