Still not sure if I like the gold paint and might paint black, but I love how they change the handling of the bike. After riding the stock wheels for 14 years and 110,000 km, it took me a couple weeks to get used to how quickly the bike turns in now. I've heard a number of people mention how lighter wheels is the best mod you can do to improve handling, but I was shocked at the difference. I had previously done a sbk fork conversion and a rear ohlins shock and they made a difference, but the lighter wheels transformed the ride to another level. I was thinking of powder coating my wheels, but I went a head a bit the bullet and ordered a set of Borrani M-Ray 9 with Red Hoops, Red Hubs with Black spokes. ETA is the first part of January.
I would have thought there would have been more wire spoke wheels in the monster world. I think the wire spokes really stand out on these bikes. I remember you telling me that before when I asked specifically about these wheels when I first bought them. I actually turned down an offer from a paint/body guy buddy to do them cheaply when he said he would sand them down and paint them. I was worried he would do exactly as you warned. Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: Hershell on October 31, 2016, 05:28:29 PM I looked at the Kieno wheels I think they look amazing. Since MV is using them on the Dragster I thought I would go with something else. They look really good on the MV

I thought about the white rims but chose red. How do you like them? I would like to see a full picture of them on the bike. Did you get new rotors?
Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: Heath on November 02, 2016, 10:17:30 PM I know you already made the decision but I'll throw mine up for the hell of it.

I thought about the white rims but chose red. How do you like them? I would like to see a full picture of them on the bike. Did you get new rotors? I actually choose the white and gold, but for me white rims are the best looking on almost any bike, but the worst to keep it clean I had to change the rotor (i'm waiting T drive to replace those serie ORO) because the front rim is actually for older monster 6 bolts on the brake disc and did a 5mm spacer as well to adapt it to my S4RS Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: Hershell on November 16, 2016, 10:27:18 PM Hey teedee brown, did you have to buy new bearings and seals for your wheels? If so what parts are need to get them rolling on the bike?
Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: teedee brown on November 21, 2016, 01:51:46 AM Hi Hershell
No need any bearing or seals, just change the brake disc and add 5mm spacers behind the disc. I'll post some more pics later Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: Hershell on November 21, 2016, 02:57:23 PM Can I use the stocks rotors? Where did you get the spacers?
Pics would be awesome thanks. Title: Re: Wheels.. let's see them Post by: DucHead on November 28, 2016, 02:07:34 PM Gale Speed Type R forged alyoominyum:
