Simple enough. I think i broke my toe while walking to my lunch destination today...
It's pretty purple in one spot, and hurts like a pregnant dog. Anything i can do for it? Or should i just suck it up and wait it out.
It's possibly just a bad bruise/sprain, according to the web. But it could easily be broken as well...
[bang]
they don't do anything for toes dewd
suck it up
and watch it
if it starts to die then go to the doctor
otherwise
have a beer or 5
Vicodin and a shot of whiskey.
+1 to Mother.
Broke my big just by stubbing really make the beast with two backsin' hard. If it needs to be set the go to a doc (or just give it a good tug ;) ). Other wise just tape it up and keep an eye on it for any discoloration. It will also peiodically be sore for the rest of your life. So you have that going for you. Which is nice.

/hates agreeing with Mother :-*
If it is your big toe they do otherwise just grin and bear it. It isn't too bad.

Not sure if anybody likes agreeing with Mother.... other than Maurice.... and then taints get involved... sad really. [laugh]
I broke my big toe on my left foot in March (I think it was March). I dropped a steel star post on it, right behind the nail.
Broke the bone straight in half. :-X
I didn't think it was broken at the time as I could still move it, but I was bleeding under my nail and it wouldn't stop.
Decided to have a few painkillers (that weren't f*cken strong enough) and see a Doc in the morning.
I did not sleep a wink that night, it felt as if someone was stabbing my toe with a red hot piece of steel.
Anyway, long story short, if it's broken all you can do is wrap it up, rest and elevate it. Put your feet up and watch TV and drink [drink]
You'll know if it's broken, I think you may have just bruised it badly.

.... as Krolik would say... "this post is worthless without pictures".... and begs the question.... What does a broken camel toe look like?

Wellp. Got the podiatrist to check it out... Definitely broken, crushed a piece of the corner of the middle bone in my fourth toe.
As i figured, just buddy-taping it too the next toe is all i can do. I just wanted to get x-rays to make sure it wasnt smashed into oblivion (infection, etc.). Sorry, no pics, it's all taped up :/ If want to imagine what it looks like, take your fourth toe and color it with a sharpie.

Vicodin and a shot of whiskey.
I understand the humor, but since my wife's a pharmacist, I feel obligated to point out the risks with this, in case anyone reading doesn't fully realize them.
Vicodin and alcohol potentiate each other. 1+1 equals more than two, in this case. Vicodin not only dulls pain, but also depresses breathing. So does alcohol. A too-strong vicodin effect, and you'll wake up next to Heath Ledger.
Also, vicodin contains acetaminophen, which is hard on the liver and kidneys and stomach. So is alcohol. Too much of both at the same time can cause liver, kidney, and stomach wall damage.
One vicodin and one shot isn't likely to be a problem. But carrying on from there is another matter.
I dunno... I play in a lot of billiards tournaments... and I know a lot of guys that use alcohol and vicodin cocktails to settle out the shakes.... and they keep it going for 18 hour day long tournaments. Crazy people. [wine]
I don't do it, but it seems to work for them.
Brole my little toe walking around barefoot couple of years ago. Hurt so bad I almost set my drink down. [wine]
walk it off!!!!
