Title: cat piss on leathers
Post by: tonyj311 on August 21, 2008, 06:48:10 AM
Went down to the laundry room this morning to find that one of my cats had pissed all over my riding pants. I tried to rinse it off with water but I think the damage is done. Any suggestions for how to get the funk out?

Cat piss is the worst.  I haven't had experience with it on leather, but I would say unless you can rise it out, they're probably done.

Let us know how cat tastes.

Burn them.
Cat piss is a pregnant dog to get rid of.
Hope someone else has a better idea though.

there might not be one when my wife gets home tonight  [evil]

They are Dainese pants and the cheapest ones I can find that are comparable are $350 through Cycel Gear.

I stuck the pants in the laundry tub to try to rinse it off, so I will only know for sure when I get home tonight if they are ruined or not. I can always sell them on Ebay I suppose.

There is no getting rid of that smell.  Gotta burn the leathers now.

Fry up the cat in a wok with broccoli, green onions, garlic, red pepper and peanuts.

Quit showering yourself and eventually you won't notice the smell.

Go to a pet supply store and get a cleaner like one of the ones "trouble" posted.  Simple Solution, Nature's Miracle, they're all good.

Also, in general, to get rid of smells...put plenty of baking soda on/in the smelly area, let it sit (sometimes for days) and then remove it.

Swing the cat by my place, release in my back yard (you know where).  The kid with the yellow Monster also has a devastatingly accurate scoped .22 and CB caps.  Do this prior to items one and two above.

I only grabbed part of Bick's post, someone 'splain that snip thing to me plz.

Yeah, I know. My wife already lectured me.  [roll]

Gonna look in to professional cleaners. Its gotta be cheaper than buying new pants. I tried that anti-cat stench spray, but I can still smell it...

beat the cat until it learns its lesson and uses its claw like tougne to lick of all the cat piss.

VINEGAR

i don't know how much of the piss soaked into the fibers but vinegar neutralizes the piss.

wife's luggage was pissed on and stank.  soaked it in vinegar for a few days and then hand toweled it with water.

scent is gone.

cat must have smelled your ass or ball sweat.  they react to stuff like that, that's why cats piss on dirty laundry a lot.

This cat needs to die. If you aren't up to it I have a badass suppressed pellet rifle. It doesn't make a sound. Cat problem gone.

BTW I really love the "try cat blood" suggestion. I lol'd.

Man, none of you guys are ever house sitting for me. . .

If you have cats, you don't leave shit you care about laying around for them to sleep on or otherwise defile.  It happens.  Cat's are evil like that.

I can't leave plastic bags laying around or my cats will hose them down.  I don't know why they just do it.  So I learned after 1 incident.  No bags on the floor, cats use the box & everyone is happy ;D
