they don't want us seeing, sharing, or using sites like that. we are locked up pretty well for that. and yes, i've looked for loopholes, nothign has worked out yet.

Have you tried the free space attached to your internet service at home? Comcast (for me) I believe includes 25 megs for example.

Or, you could surf through a proxy.

That sucks that your employer sees fit to limit web access.  I'd never tolerate that.  At my work there is total external access and everyone is relied on to just get their job done - amazingly it works.

i'm fairly certain that will get me in trouble. mainly because i've seen people get in trouble for surfing through a proxy

we had a major embezzlement issue last year. we got busted on a few things and because we are in healthcare they want to make sure everything is more than HIPPA compliant. also, if we can upload files or pictures of our business operations to those sites then you cna't tell who is looking at them.
i also think they are just being overly strict and cautious.
