Front Turn signals Options
«
on:
March 09, 2009, 07:08:23 PM »
what are my options?
i don't really like the stock ones, I've seen the rizoma selection, and I'm not sure about them.
i want to keep my fairing on, so i have to make sure they stick out far enough to clear it, or has anyone tried to install signals on the fairing (flush mounted)?
wonder how it would look and funktion (would they be to close to the head light)
please post some pics to show your setup
Thanks

This is a picture of mine. You can see the signals but mine is sans fairing so probably not much help. They are very bright though.

I purchased some Rizoma's from PJs for the back. I was thinking of doing the same to the front but then decided to order the DP Performance mirrors with intergrated LED signals in them as I am not a big fan of bar end mirrors.
Rizoma has extenders that work with all their blinkers. So if you need them further out its not really a problem. The extenders come in black or silver to match whatever you are doing and PJs has them in both finishes.

that thing is sweet
did you have any problem with the back ones ,as far as clearing the seat cowl, i installed some mini led on the back and had to bend the mount downward so they wouldn't touch the cowl.

I've got Rizoma Zeros all the way around. Up front the fairing covers about 50% of the signal if they are in the stock mounting. Also, if they are in the stock position, you have to figure out a different solution for that rubber bumper that the fairing mounts to. I simply drilled new mounting holes further down the headlight mounts. That 1) Dropped the signals below the fairing so they are no obscured 2) Let me use the stock shoulder bolt and a nut to mount that rubber fairing mount as opposed to the bodged up version I had w/ the Zeros in the stock spot.
RE: FLush mounting. I did that on my tail end. I've got a Shift-Tech 1/2 tail w/ the Zeros flush mounted to it. To do that, you have to cut the support stalks of the zeros down to about 1/2" (Mind you this is the 1st gen of Zeros w/o the flex stalks)

I'm using the Rizoma Avio-21 signals on all 4 corners of my bike. I used the extensions on the front to get them out past the fairing. The rear ones didn't need the spacers. They're not quite the same red as the Duc, but close enough for me. (I can take more/better shots if you're interested, just let me know.)
here's what they look like in the back (without spacers)

Thank you. I purchased the Rizoma extender to clear the rear cowl.
Keeping up with this board is a full-time job - so many good ideas, not enough time to absorb and research them all.
But, I will be looking into the Rizomas....
