So why do you guys want an oil cooler?  ???

Too keep oil temps down in heavy traffic where there is not adequate air-cooling.

Never had any problem with temperature (4 bars max in traffic jams) but then again I don't live somewhere that would be considered south.

I'm going to wait until Spring/Summer to get the oil cooler. Stop-and-go traffic here is killer. Anything is better than nothing in my book..

Does the oil cooler mount below the radiator like it did in the S4RS?

Very cool, thanks for posting. I had been wondering how that was going as I plan on doing this mod in the next couple of months (and then the steering damper).
BTW, how do you like the feel of the Rizoma grips?

They feel a little strange to me since I have BIG hands, so I think that I will be selling them.  Interested?  Other than the fact that they are smaller than stock, they feel very nice and the quality is def. there!!!
Which ones are they, the universal sportline? Can't see them very well.

Looks like a very clean install.

do you live in california? why do you still have the charcoal canister?

Thanks for posting the pics. This is a mod I want to do just to keep a healthy engine as I do a lot of in town stop and go traffic (the oil cooler should be stock, IMO).

You didn't mention the most important thing; Does it make a difference?

Ah, just to get you asking questions. ;)  I will most likely be getting the panel that eliminates the canister over the summer.  One thing at a time considering I already have another grand into this freakin thing this winter.

30 bucks or so more.... besides i really wanna see how the lines run without it.

Whoever did the instalation on your oil cooler forgot the hose guides (part #758.4.020.1A). 2 of them attach to the cover (part #758.1.047.1A) which is right behind your emission canister in pic 3! Go look at the new 1100. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

I'd take it right back and have them correct this. Poor attention to detail if you ask me, on their part! I'm sure they'll tell you they're not necessary, but why have your hoses just dangling there? They should come with the oil cooler kit, but knowing Ducati, they probably have to be ordered seperately. Cheap correction worth getting right.

Yes, I'm one of those pain-in-the-ass sticklers for detail!

Special K

Also, since they forgot those I'd check for the other guide (part #741.4.175.1A) which attaches the top hose to the frame just before it enters the top of the oil cooler. There's a good chance they forgot that one as well.

I'm just sayin'

Love the tag warmer in the 6th pic. What is that....argyle? [thumbsup]
