Anyone know if any of the older metal tanks might fit on my bike?
Not a direct swap, but it can be done.

I am all ears.
To be perfectly honest, I was kinda bummed when the Monster went to the plastic tank.  I'm not like going to go burn down the factory bummed but ya know.  If there is a way  I am seriously interested  [coffee]

We had a discussion about it on TOB...

basically you need a steel tank, the hinge bracket that bolts to the frame, and the flange that fit's into the top of the tank.

I'm fairly certain the cap and the other hardware will work.

What I'm not certain about is the fuel pump and filter. On the plastic tanks it is attached to the mount plate and bolts up to the bottom of the tank. The steel tanks have a large hole on the top and it all goes in through there.

You'll also need some fuel line, vent tubing, and misc clamps.

If you download the pdf parts file for the two set ups you can see the differences and perhaps figure out if you can use the internals.
