Ok, I know there has been much debate but looking for opinions for me.

Anyway, lot's of city driving, some twisties, no track.

Michelin Pilot Powers or Michelin Pilot Road 2's?

I'm not concerned about the shorter life in the PP's so that's not a factor.

Thanks in advance.

I'd get the Road 2ct personally. Excellent grip (even without being warm), and they'll last a hell of a lot longer than the Powers.

edit: just saw that you're not concerned about tire life. Weird, as tire life = $$. I still think the Roads are plenty of tire for the riding you are describing...that's what I'd get because of longevity; however, I'm pretty sure the Powers have a steeper profile and will turn in quicker, so get those if you want that. Keep in mind that they'll be a little more slippery when cold than the Roads though. Both are great in the wet (if that's a concern).

That makes sense.  Thx.

I just don't put enough miles per year to really be concerned about tread life, so that's where I was coming from.

Even if you aren't concerned about tread life, you might be concerned about the tires squaring off if you are not doing that much twisty riding.  The sport touring tires (Road 2CT) will also be better for that.

+1.  The PR 2ct have the PP compound on the shoulders and a harder, touring compound in the middle to resist squaring.

Hey, thanks guys.  I think I'll go with those.

I have Pilot Road 2's on my M750 and love them!  1500 miles and they still look new and in Florida there aren't many curves to keep them from squaring up.  Hoping to get 7-8K out of them.  My other choice would be Pirelli Diablo Strada's they are still a sport touring tire with good all around grip and wear.  My ST4S is going to get Diablo Strada's soon.  [moto]
Most important is to keep a close eye on the air pressure as this is the life of the tire.

I'll be the one to go against the grain here - I have about 1k on my PR2 2cts, and while I do like the longevity and stickiness of these tires, I don't like the way they feel to me. They have a stiffer sidewall, making me have to lower the pressure for them to hold a better line like my bt016s did through corners.. And with the lower pressure, they feel more numb now. IMO, I'd try the Pirelli Corsa IIIs or the BT016s since you're not worried about tire life. Both those tires have better sidewall compliance letting you run higher pressures for better feel through twisties. Again, just my opinion.

Like the FL member said.. if not a lot of twisties wats better to go with?  Like say more of a drag wheele (not slicks).  I was reading the tire tech thread.. all of them have the same tires.. are there any tires tht start off as more squared?

I've got a little over 5000 miles on my pilot powers and the back tire is squaring off now and I don't do a lot of highway driving. Since I put more than 6000 miles on a year I'd like to get at least a year out of a set of tires. So I'm going with the road 2ct's next (or maybe back to the Bridgestones).
